Due to game reload, it is again turn 102 and here is the report.

I will try to make it with pictures, as my RL work gets more and more demanding and time consuming, and I am better and faster working with pictures, rather than texts. (After all, I am General, not a Great Scientist, so I am stronger in the arms, rather than in the words) ;)

I am going to upgrade our axes and Marian. Then will move them to the Circus and with our naval blockade and the units coming from DI, I intend to take the city.

I am running 100% money this turn also and then we should continue researching Feudalism. we will have it after 15 turns without running deficit.

At War with Merlot

At last we have stronger military than Merlots according to the powergraph

I continue to produce army on DI using chops - no more whipping (except for Ephesus) as now, our cities are slim and fit, working only good tiles for maximum effect. Otreta got a nice forge in the meantime and with all the mines built she is now producing 20 hammers per turn, meaning it will pump immortal every second turn indefinitely.

Martathon + Jennylund

We will have 8 units in two turns on Martathon and 4 more in 4 turns. I must see whether Indiansmoke will pursue our maces to Nabaxica hoping to take it, or he will fall back to his undefended city. If he moves too away with his main forces, I will try to outrun him with our forces. If he keeps them closer than 4 tiles away from the Circus, I may consider taking Vandal.

We lost the trireme Georgia in unequal battle. She sunk one of their triremes, and was killed by brave galley. For now our plans for sea blockade fails, but anyway, they dont have enough money to upgrade even single unit.

Our caravel fleet is moving, but still 7 turns away from the battle scene.

I am still running 100% money as we have 2 more units in hot spots that may need upgrading and as Nabaxo wisely pointed Feudalism we dont need now and it will only help Merlots get it cheaper when we give it to all our allies.

Now we can see the Circus and his vicinity, because of our espionage points. This gives freedom to Areto the Swift to follow the enemy stack and provide us with valuable information.

No one of our allies have tech to share with us yet, which seems strange to me. We save money for upgrades, for what they spend their money I wonder.

They decided to follow our small SOD and I just retreated it to Nabaxica. Upgraded archer Marian and now he enjoys his new equipment xbow. Merlot have 3 xbows, archer, axe and spear near Nabaxica. We will defend with 3 xbows and 4 maces by all means if they are going to attack.

Those barb galleys start to piss me off. I set sail for open sea to avoid missluck like the last time when we almost lost a caravel to barb galley at 85+%.

I think those Merlots are not aware of the scale of our military presence on the peninsula. They sent 2 settlers obviously to settle cities. One is in The Circus, and other is guarded by xbow - the 2 most NE units. Their whole military on Martathon (or least which I see) consists of:

5 or 6 xbows
3 axes
2 holkans
2 archers
and navy
1 trireme
2 galleys


I moved back our secret SOD step back to hide them behind the hill and to keep them secret.

Avoided barb galley in the open sea, but waiting for it to pass, as not to show in the Merlots territorial waters to avoid early detection. Might consider killing this annoying galley at some point, as this exercise with the open sea we must repeat with all of our 5 caravels coming this way.

I moved our Hypolite-a for sentry duty toward Maverics, but it showed a Maverick wounded chariot, which still have experience to use and might consider attacking us. I used our exp. to get Combat1 promotion. We will have 50% chance if they attack us.

Turn 115 - 1 AD
Merry new millennium and a happy new age.

What happened till now in the last 6 turns in short :

Our sentry Immortal near Nabaxica was attacked by Maverick's chariot and killed against all odds, with this Mavericks declaring us a war. Technically we were at war with them from long time ago, but its nice everything to be clear.

Our honest and educated allies have gifted us 3 techs so far. 1 key technology - Astronomy, 1 very nice- Horseback Riding and 1 marginally useless - Philosophy.
Now we are able to attack across the ocean and we are very very dangerous. Also we can make War Elephants, which is awesome.

Based on this new our advantage, I changed the plan for the war, which was to take The Circus and secure Martathon for settling. Instead, I decided to try a strike at Merlots heart - their Home Island. Talked with CDZ and their fleet will be there to attack with us from the other side of MHI on our signal.

Navy

Our 4 galleons are moving to meeting point in 3 or 4 turns - depends where our land Martathon SOD will be then.

Our fifth galleon is moving in the Anjennida-Martathon straight to speed up our Nabaxica reinforcement forces movement and then to pick up some assorted attackers to try surprising attack on The Circus.

Themiscyra building Elephant (3 turns). All hail the mighty trumping Oilephants! Growth to 7 in 1 turn,

Otreta building galleon (3 turns) We have so many units, that we need a dedicated ferry to move them around between the 3 landmasses.

Ephesus building Elephant too will whip it, growth in 1 turn. The unhapines started to show her ugly face.

SilCon Valley - Spy in 1 turn. Will use him as an vanguard sentry in Mavericks direction. Also will reveal their territory.

Workers
All 6 workers (too small number by my consideration, but will solve this a bit later) are building either camps, or roads, as we will need all our resources to trade with our allies, because we need that happiness after all that wiping.



Anjennida / Jennilund

Army

Moving reinforcements to Nabaxica to repel any attempt for attack from Maverics.
Part of the troops by land using our new highway which will connect Myrine with Nabaxica soon, part with our brand new luxorious trans-ocean cruise galleon.

We had a small problem with a barb spear near Myrine, but solved him. He did destroyed the horse pasture though. Will rebuild it soon :)

Workers
the 2 workers are building a road from Myrine to Nabaxica under the guard of a spearman - dont want nasty chariot surprises anymore.


Marthaton

A lot of military concentrated there. Our "Marta" SOD consisting of

4 immortals
2 maceman
1 xbow


is moving cautiously, avoiding any chance to be engaged in serious fight on Martathon, as his purpose is to be our striking force in Operation Salamander.

Merlots forces consist of:

10 xbows (bloody bastards)
3 holkans
3 axeman
1 maceman
1 catapult
1 archer


They are in defense formation as I see it, and they believe that we are going to threaten their Martathon cities.

Maverics are geared up for war and this shows good in the graphics. With all the shiny war civics - Police State (+25% soldiers production), Slavery (my personal favorite :crazyeye:) and Theocracy.
Good that our allies are preparing for some action them self too.
