Turn Tracker (OFFICIAL)

Turn 41 - 2360 BC

Uneventful round. I followed instructions, and we are now producing our first settler, waiting for the completion of the warrior afterwards, then a galley.
Discovered equal inlet to the east, so the landmass is very equal star shaped.

Population increased, biggest nation in people again.

Researching sailing, but it becomes obviously clear, we need to research iron working sooner than later, as well as animal husbandry, in order to make sure we do the right improvements for the right reasons in the right tiles, instead of firing into the dark.
5 turns for animal husbandry, 10 for IW, and a total of almost 50 turns for the Calendar gambit. We got enough worker actions not involving chopping for some time, so we should at least do iron working first to be on the safe side. I suspect there may be iron SE of the capital or near Singularity city site.

Cityscreen is up, other than that, there is no need to make further screenies, as there is no developments near our city.

Turn 42 - 2320 BC

No changes since last turn, worker completes cottages, warriors stand still, work boats go on as wanted by the majority here (eastern boat heading straight east).

There is nothing more to report, compared to last turn.

Turn 43 2880 BC

Gentlemen.

We just made contact with Mavericks, just north of the desert peninsula, ironically with the Ganges. This means its verified we met the CDZ city Spamalot east of us, as the Indian capital is north of us. I will post a whole range of screenies and maps, so no need to yell after these, as I am doing it this evening. I know we are at crossroads here.

The workerboat Rio Grande headed east per instructions, and Ganges headed north per instructions where she met Mavericks. The worker just completed the cottage and has no moves left. Sailing is due in 1T, Writing in 6T, and if people support this, Alphabet in another 18t. The 18 is likely to be reduced, due to cottages growing to villages, and the access to a silver mine in Quatron soon, more likely 15-16. Sailing and Writing will cost as it stands.

Turn 44 -2840 BC

First of all. We just discovered a channel east of mavericks. I also noticed a river farther east with Rio Grande. We started to work the other grassland tile for the cottage, just south of the existing cottage. From demographics, we see that we are gradually falling behind in food and production, but this will change in short time with Quatron.

Turn 45 - 2800 BC

Gentlemen.

I moved the Ganges right north, and Rio Grande right east. I think we are not too far away from the other two civs we are about to meet. The worker is still doing its cottage.

Be aware the following:

Maverick met someone else we dont know about north of them
CDZ met no-one so far, but they will meet Maverick before turn 67 somewhere.
We will soon meet Mavericks neighbor, and they researching Alphabet or not will be the key to the big picture
We will soon meet CDZ neighbor northeast of them, and we can more or less tell them what we want for a while, still keeping espionage on CDZ to keep that illusion intact.

I will post up screenies shortly (main overview of the world + Demographics)

Turn 46 - 2760 BC

Nothing new in particular, Ganges moved north and Rio Grande moved east. Worker waits to complete cottages on site, where it will head towards future wheat of Quatron.

CDZLand slaved "Spamalot" and built "Rotterspam", and they fell in points down to 128.

I have arranged the production line, with the intent to build Singularity first, and is heading out with galley, then warrior, then settler, worker, settler and 2 workboats for Resonance. I suggest we switch to Buddhism and slavery after this line (last workboat).

I more committed than ever to pursue Alphabet, as we may have met 2 more civs, based on the lie of the land, within 8 turns or so. At least alphabet allows us to know tradeable techs with each civ.

Turn 47 - 2120 BC

Rio Grande is now about to turn around the eastern desert peninsula. Expected time of arrival (ETA) for the team north of CDZ is 5 turns, so we should inform CDZ on this account in 8 turns from now, or a turn or two after we have established a solid understanding of the new team.

Ganges is now about moving around Mavericks northern peninsula. It will take some time for us to reach their northern neighbor, more likely a few turns before we finally reach Alphabet, which the majority now supports as the chosen technology to go for.

I also suggest we do as many tech trades as we can, yet share the dividends with the two teams we feel we can work most closely with, but in terms of technology placement and in terms of location and trade in resources.

For worker actions, I plan to move our worker directly onto the Western wheat, near the future city of Quatron.

Worker begins farming wheat
Rio Grande ventures farther north
Ganges met workboat from Amazons, named "Jenny"
Continuum builds galley
Quatron founded
Quatron builds granary

Research

1 turn left of researching writing
research time of Alphabet now reduced to 13 turns.

Turn 51 - 1960 BC

International scene
  • Mavericks researched Monotheism, got Judaism and changed to Organized Religion
  • Mavericks slaved last turn
  • Amazons met Merlot

Actions:

  • Writing completed
  • Ganges went farther north
  • Rio Grande went farther west
  • Slider down to zero for accumulating gold, researching Alphabet in 12 t afterwards (T63)
  • Worker still making farm

Diplomatic note:

Obsolete wanted to chat with me, as they are frustrated they got no reply from the diplomatic mail.

I answered diplomatically, if at all.

But they wanted us to know the following:

  • They want to organize an exclusive trade, and promise us Colossus with it.
  • They want us to specialize in the tech tree
  • They seem to head for Masonary and Iron Working afterwards
  • They want us to head for mathematics, for a joint trade
  • They warn against the CDZ team and Ragnar for its military might and consider the choice of Cyrus of Persia bad for this map.
  • They are ready for open borders anytime, as well as all resource trades

Observation:

Resource trades may require land based city (continent)
We will not need any before we plan to settle anyways

Hazzah for the mighty Q Contiuum!

The newly appointed executive minister surveys the humble nation of Quatronia and is pleased by both past achievements plus the ongoing work in the ministry to secure diplomatic relations for years to come.

There has been much ado in the embassy for our most distant relations, The Amazonian tribe, and as it is so far afield news travels slowly between us. As such it appears that we may have lost standing with them but it is hoped that we can forge a stronger bond by negotiating an exclusive alliance in the coming years.
It appears that as an act of good faith they have offered many wonderous technologies (OB & Polytheism, Hunting, AH, Masonary). Diplomatic relations not being my forte :( I stumbled at first offer however have immediately dispatched a counter offer to them (OB & Meditation for (OB & Polytheism, Hunting, AH, Masonary)). I sincerely hope that our diplomats can smooth relations and that I have not added terribly much to their already hectic workload. (sorry ppl)

News has leaked thru unofficial channels that the Maverick nation is just that and have been whipping the populace. Perhaps this practice is something the mighty Q should consider as the norm in the future.

The coffers have enjoyed healthy returns these past years at the expense of our science ministry. It is hoped that a scientific exchange can be arranged with other teams and the scientists can get back on track next turn.

News from our intrepid explorers on the Ganges report uneventful sailing but the Rio Grande reports of discovering the southern most influence of the Merlot. However there was no direct engagement made with the Merlot at this time.

As we strive forward to our current goal for exploring the mainland there is very little change on the main island. Continuum will both finish the Galley and grow in 3 turns. The cottage to its west will become a hamlet in 2 turns. On that turn the worker will also finish improving the wheat east of Quatron at which point he will move to mine the silver and later on farm the wheat further south once the borders expand.

The Ganges and Rio Grande sail on reporting little this turn. A slighty more zoomed out view this time. You can see the western edge of Merlot in the screen shot. Still no contact with Sirius though.

As always the conversation continues over here!

The Continuum struggles onward. Whilst we were busily filling the coffers again, Team Amazon's Emissary had showed us the magic of the Alphabet. These standard symbols will become a way for the Q to record our mighty accomplishments!

The worker has finished improving the wheat this turn and Quatron is now working the improvement. The city reports that they will grow in 4 turns. The worker is now off to the hills to mine. The Ganges has not discovered anything new this turn however the Rio Grande has sent word that they briefly encountered the 2nd workboat of the Amazonian people. They are about ~10 turns away from the CDZ island unless they encounter the CDZ workboat sooner.

Speaking of team CDZ, we can now see their graph. I only have a screenshot of the combined graph however you may want to request others. As the Ganges is ~5 turns away from Sirius and the coffers hold >100 :gold: I have requested the science ministry (which has been sitting idle for 3 turns) turn it's thoughts to Archery (3 turns).

HOORAY!!! Exciting news from the Ganges. The crew have spotted signs of a civilised settlement upon the horizon. They anticipate contact can be made within the next few turns. The Rio Grande has not sent word of anything as grandiose this turn.

The worker moved and will start mining next turn. The cottage west of Continuum grew to a Hamlet. The cottage SW will do the same in another 3. Archery will complete next turn as will the Galley and Continuum grows.

You will also see that Mavs have offered us a tech trade. I suspect that this is a test as the email they sent refers to the "Technology situation" looking different. Anywho, we MUST do something about it and as such I won't end turn until we've discussed a plan to implement.

Ok, so there was a little bit to do this turn for the Continuum. The galley has finally been completed! HOORAY, there was much rejoicing in the streets. Some intrepid warriors were brave enough to step forward and have been shipped off to far flung corners of the globe to bring us news of what they find. X marks the spot ;)

Continuum grew to size 7 and is now working the spices again. There was discussion about building another worker prior to the next settler and that is what has been queued up. Quatron is 2 turns away from grow and 4 away from border pop.

After much focus has been on the Ganges to contact our partners from Sirius the Rio Grande beat them to the punch line as they contacted a workboat from the team. They have sent messages offering us peace.

The Mavs have all but demanded technology from us again. This time increasing there stakes. This needs to be addressed!

May the Continuum be prosperous! :D

Hmmm, seems I forgot to do this the other day.

Both the Rio Grande and the Ganges encountered very little of interest. The galley (DeNile) moved SE in anticipation of meeting a WB and delivering it's cargo to shore.

On the technology front we have traded Archery for Math and are now researching Calendar.

The Quatronian people rejoiced and celebrated for the city of Quatron was reported to have reached a milestone in population at last census. Historians note that Buddhism has also spread to the city and it's culture will now spread next turn. The city is now working the wheat in the fields and the Spices in the forest.

DeNile dropped off the warrior scout which revealed a deposit of stone. The Continuum should deliberate as to whether a city should be founded on the hill as opposed to the plain. DeNile will now return to city of Continuum to collect another set of brave warriors who will venture in the other direction. Due to Quatron's vast cultural spread DeNile will shave 3 whole turns off the trip to the new world.

Our scientists have reported that due to an increase in funding (Hamlet growth 1W of Continuum and Quatron Spices) they will should discover the secrets of the Calendar sooner (1T)

The Ganges has now turned north and will reach their final destination of the Amazonian people in ~14T. Send forward a message to Amazonian people so their arrival can be heralded and the brave explorers can be settled (gifted) amongst the Amazonian people. We hope that the Amazonian explorers will choose the same fate and a mutual exchange of culture can be arranged.

The Rio Grande has sighted a Merlot Galley on the horizon. Hopefully our communications with the Merlot people can remain polite untill our sailors are safe within the Amazonian borders.

May the Continuum be glorious!

The Rio Grande will be playing follow the leader it seems as it works its way around the spoke to its final destination in the land of Amazonia. The Ganges did not encounter anything of note this turn.

The Warrior Scout revealed an oasis under the fog but more interestingly has spotted the Merlot work boat which is 5 turns away from our cultural borders and where it will see it's path blocked before its eyes :p

The worker finished the Mine improvement S of Quatron and the city is now working that tile instead of the Spices. This actually gives us Calendar 1 turn earlier however as you can see with Continuum if we switch from the villiage to the grass / forest we can get the worker next turn and we only lose 1 turn on Calendar. I.e. No net loss on research and if we switch back next turn it should still be 8 anyway. (Calendar is @ 124 / 522 :beakers: with 42 / turn)

I await the thoughts of the Continuum...

Again many things to do this turn. The Continuum is getting quite busy.

Worker 1, having finished the mine is now working the 2nd wheat around Quatron. Worker 2 has moved this turn and will chop next turn. All our discussion about Asymptote seems moot now as the warrior scout has seen a CDZ settler party. Depending on where they settle next turn we may loose both sites on the pennisular :(

The Merlot Galley that the Rio Grande was following has dissapeared completely, probably due to a double turn. There is also a CDZ galley following it (which you can't see on the screenie). The Ganges has nothing of interest to report. DeNile picked up the other warrior scout. Timing being crucial we may not have time to get the warrior scout to the second peninsular and get DeNile back to move the settler AND destroy the Merlot WB.
