What? did you think this was the game? Well it is ABOUT a game...

All these refer to the vanilla civ III

1. If you trade someone horses for lets say 200 gp, Then you pillage the only road connecting your civ to theirs (outside of borders), do you take a rep hit?

2. Do AI civs ever gift techs/gp to penniless civs?

3. What combt exp are the free units the AI get on harder difficulty levels, and do the units change depending on UUs and techs?

4. Does the amount of gpt a civ can offer before they'd "never accept" equal their total surplus gpt?

5. Do roads on mountains offer the same movement bonus as on grasslands?

6. Does renegotiating Peace treaty cause a rep hit?

7. Does rite of passage only end if one of the civ's wants it to? (after 20 turns)

8. After getting great lighthouse my gallys can cross oceans safely. Is this a bug?

9. Does military alliance do anything other than make the civs go to war against a common opponent?

10. Does the thousand year culture bonus come alot sooner turnwise, if built in BC?

11. Any way to check year constructed for improvments?

12. Is it possible for Fearless Leader to win a fight alone?

13. Are Governors useful at all?

14. Does the nationality of the worker matter when added to the city?

15. Is one of the AI's main goals to wipe out all the non-AI?

16. If a civ has great library, does it become obsolete as soon as anyone discoveres education? or just that civ?

17. Reffering to question 16, does it still produce the same culture/turn?

18. Do wonders get the thousand-year bonus to culture?

19. Is Civ IV completely RTS? (I hate RTS!)

20. Why is the sky blue?

I think thats about it for now... Thx in advance to anyone that can help.

1. Yes

2. Basically. They will trade them very cheaply to others.

3. Regular, I think, and I think that if they have BW/WC, some will be spearmen are archers, respectively.

4. Yes

5. I think...

6. Nope

7. Yep, it will keep going until one of you cancels it.

8. Not sure

9. Well, it makes your partner like you more!

10. Obviously, yes.

11. I think it is somewhere. I know CivAssistII will tell you.

12. Fearless leaders?

13. Only if you want to lose!

14. Yes, the new citizen will be that nationality.

15. No.

16. Just that Civ.

17. Yes

18. Yes

19. I think Civ 4 is all turned base...

20. The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air.

However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue.

As you look closer to the horizon, the sky appears much paler in color. To reach you, the scattered blue light must pass through more air. Some of it gets scattered away again in other directions. Less blue light reaches your eyes. The color of the sky near the horizon appears paler or white.

3. Free units are broken into offensive and defensive units (more defensive than offensive). If a civ starts with BW, the defensive units will be spears (or UU for a civ with those) - if a civ starts with WC, the offensive units will be archers. If neither, all units are warriors. I assume that sumeria starts with all enkidu warriors, as the enkidu replaces the spear. I assume that aztecs start with warriors, not jaguar warriors, but I don't know that.

5. Yes, roads are roads. You can go through 3 mountains on a road, just like a grass square.

8. Yes, this is a bug in vanilla. I ran into it as well. There is a patch (I was never able to get it to work, so I bought conquests, which is a lot better, anyway)

12. I assume a fearless leader is a great leader. No, they have no combat ability and die if in combat, so be careful!!

"8. After getting great lighthouse my gallys can cross oceans safely. Is this a bug?"

Boats only have a chance to sink in water that you do not have tech for. The boats have to end their turn in ocean to be in danger, if you lack the tech.

"19. Is Civ IV completely RTS? (I hate RTS!)"

It is TBS only.

thx for the help ppl. If I think of more questions I'll post them here

Just bought civ 4. hope its good.

If you have gold to burn, you could investigate cities, though you'd have to investigate every one of their cities. (but if you start with the core it is likely you will find it quickly)

11. F5 - culture advisor lets You check culture buildings construction dates.

16. i haven't built 'obsolete-able' wonder in a while, but as i remember they stop to produce cpt after becoming obsolete (i might be wrong - the other thing is, that captured wonders do not produce cpt)

I'm afraid that you are wrong. Obsolete wonders continue to produce culture (and cash if applicable). You're right about captured wonders though.
