Hi,
As a complete beginner I started CIV III Conquests.
Using the PDF file I found most of the answers but I still have two questions:
1. Leonardo da Vinci

I suddenly got Leonardo da Vinci at an early phase of the game, but I have no idea what I can do with him. Please tell me about him :)

2. Making roads between cities.

I can make one little part of a road at the square I am standing at, but according to the manual I should be able to instruct the workers by clicking at the destination. I activated the worker, pressed ctrl-R and a brown rectangular appeared. I moved it to the destination square (another City) but I wonder if it works. After a while the worker just made a road on the square it stood at. Did I do something wrong? Can't I make a road at once between two cities or what?

Please help me out! Thanks. :)

1) Leo is a Scientific Great Leader. You will have got him because you were the first person to get a certain technology :) There is a 3% chance of this happening as a normal civ, but if you have the Scientific Trait/Attribute, then the chances are increased to 5%.

You can either start a Scientific Golden Age, or rush a Great Wonder with him. The Scientific GA basically just increases the science output of all cities for 20 turns or something.

2) If you leave that worker be (ie don't click on him ;)) he should continue to build the road. He may not move immediately in that turn, but he should do so before the end. I've never used that road-building-thingie before, so I might be wrong.

Anyhoo, hope that helps, and welcome to CfC :)

1. Leonardo da Vinci is a scientific leader. Use the scientific leader to rush a great wonder. Rushing a great wonder means it will be build in one turn.

2. for ctrl-r move brown box to a square that is next to the city. Also once the worker finish the 1st road square it will move to the next square then next turn it will start on the road.

The scientific golden age appears to not wok properly, so it's best to use him to build a wonder.

hey i dont' have conquest yet but i think i can answer your questions

1. I think he is a scientific leader. a scentific leader appears if you are the first person to research a tech then their is a probability of a scientific leader appearing. when you get one take him to any city and you have 2 options, a) you can rush a great wonder b) you can boost science with him for a short period of time. scientific leaders are the only type of leaders capable of rushing a great wonder ;) their is still a military leader but he can only rush a small wonder and also he can still create an army :) i hear most people use scientific leader to rush great wonders because the science boost isn't that great but i may be wrong about that so read more replys to this thread

2. don't fully understand what you mean sorry

hope my first paragraph helped you a bit

darn Gainy bo beat me to the first post

1) The scientific golden age is bugged so use Leonardo to rush-build a wonder in one of your cities.

2) Remember to build roads everywhere, not just between your cities, since roads increase commerce. Roads are built one tile at a time. If the worker is automated it will automatically move when it is finished working its current tile.

Thanks all of you for the quick help :)
Reason I got Leonardo was because I tried the game out without other cpu or human opponents, so I always am the first :D

About the worker: After he finished the square, he just stood there, doing nothing... so I think I did something wrong with that brown box... shoud I left-click with the brown box on the destination-square? I did that, but on the first square into the new city... is that wrong?
