1. Why exactly are Healers in the game? And why does the AI and city governors love them so much? I find them ridiculously annoying.

2. There are some unique features, at least they have their own names, that seem to do nothing special. There is Elemental Quarter (just water mana) and Hammer's Rest (just cows). What exactly are they in terms of gameplay and lore? And what is the lore behind Foxford (the tribal village look-alike that gives 3 extra gold).

Answer to the first question would be probably that because the game had serious issues with unhealthy cities and only little possibilities how to compensate this.

Also Foxford has special event for the first unit that enters that tile of the map - it has something to do with werewolves, i believe. For the rest of unique features, I have no idea.

Healers were originally mostly for the gp (healing unit for civs with no religion or religious analogues). They provide health though, so they help with the increased unhealthy cost.

As for the 'unique features': they don't exist. It's a python script that names locations, gives the map some flavor.

No idea really on foxford. FF added it, we just kept it.

I always thought that "foxford" is a reference to the "werewolf" card-game.
After some research, the name foxford appeared as the village's name for the "Night of the Werewolves" version played on forums.
One of those occurences was even on civfanatics... with FFH settings and initiated by Keal (:worship:himself :crazyeye:).
