i have this wierd problem, when i play the game, some techs or other things look like this:TXT_KEY_TECH_UTOPIA. that, for ex., was what it said for communism. And also, when i try to start a custom game, it says i need a "game name", what ever that is.

That seriously looks like a bad install.....

but i uninstalled it and reinstalled it. i thought it was because of patch 3.17, but no.
help... please

did you clear the game cache by holding down the shift key during startup at some point? if not try doing so

how do you do that?

Click shift during the load of Civ IV or manually delete the content of the cache folder ( in vista is in (Vista disk):\Users\(UserName)\AppData\Local\My Games\Beyond the Sword\cache )
