Latest news on my EB-preordered-LE-expedited-service-through-UPS copy is that it is in Philly to be flown to Europe!!! For EB orders mail them and ask for shipment details. Response in about 2 hours!

I would consider going to outpost.com

They cannot ship via normal US mail, but state that they can send items using DHL air mail, maybe costs more but worth it to get our European claws on civ! (before mid Nov)

I'm not condoing it, but I think it's becoming clear why piracy is so rife. I can understand disparity in release dates on console games (differences between NTSC and PAL), but there's no excuse for it on PC software and handheld consoles.

I'm going to be patient but you can bet there's a lot of people out there going to be doing a naughty download this week

I have tracked my order this morning and it is in the UK and out from UPS in Southampton waiting to be delivered!!

Ordered on the 30th as I posted then and I should be playing in about 3 hours!!

Certainly gamestop people that have posted seem to be paying about £20 of that as concerning civ3LE.

I´ve read here that in Europe we won´t get Civ3 till March 2002. I hope that at least we will get an updated and improved version with less bugs. Let the yanks try the game first so we could get a better Civ3! And maybe they will include the spanish civilization. I´m very surprised, and angry too, that they have forgotten the nation who discovered America!

The game is already out in Finland! At least one store in Helsinki got a shipment of the games yesterday, and I was lucky enough to get one of their copies. It's probably out at least in the other Nordic countries too, since this seems to be some sort of Nordic edition: the back of the box the game came in has texts in swedish, danish, norwegian and finnish (don't worry though, the game, manual etc. are in english and nothing else seems to be different).

I was personally suprised to get the game his early, since the earlier published release date for Finland was the 16th of this month.

Got my preordered LE copy last Tuesday (6 Nov), it was ordered at EBgames.com. Have been playing since then!!! :crazyeyes

btw I live in the Netherlands and it was an additional $35 freight to get it over here.

From what I've seen of the comments so far I'm in no hurry to buy the game. There seem to be too many anomalies and oddities in the gameplay, which is a shame. Also, it's very annoying that there are no scenarios or multiplay as yet.

I've switched my attention to 'Empire Earth'.

You´re right Ironman. There are too many bugs reported just in this forum, apart from rules and things that seem not to work very well in the game. There´s also the non-inclusion of a multiplayer option and the lack of important civs like Celts, Vikings, Arabs, Spanish (this drives me mad! ) and many others.
It seems to me that Fireaxis will publish an expansion or a new version, sometime, including those options and civs and repairing the bugs.
At first I was very anxious to play, but not anymore. I will try that Empire Earth that you mentioned !
