UK Release date.

What the HELL is going on? I live in Weston-Super-Mare, England and I just went down to Electronics boutique to buy my copy of Civ3. However, when I asked if they had any, I was told that it wasn't released until 6th November! I have been told repeatedely that the game would be in UK Electronics Boutique stores by 30th October, or at least the 31st. No-one has ever said anything about the 6th November! Could someone from the UK please tell me WTH this is all about!

ARRRRRRGGGGG! I don't beleive it! I would've pre-ordered if I had known it didn't come out until the 16th! I might as well just get it for christmas now...

According to the official CIv III site, the release date for US is the 30 th of october.

No date for all the others countries and version....

I have sent a raging email to Amazon about thier shady dealings in regard to release dates, I think they are holding out on us!

They let you pre-order from Europe, but the small print then sez CIV3 is not shipped outside USA!
They let me pick expensive priority mail, though, the slugs!

I will have more info as soon as they get back to me!

If they are messing me about, The Stukas will be flying!!!

According to all the post here, Amazon.com seams not to be clear
about the shipment outside US .

I hope everyone will be able to have it's own Civ III as soon as possible.

But I made a thread on this very Forum asking if anyone knew the UK release date and someone told me that it was the 30th October. Someone is messing me about, be it EB Firaxis or whoever, I WANT MY GAME!!!!!

I had been thinking of pre-ordering from Amazon.com but decided against at the last minute because of the cost. I'm glad I did change my mind! Apparently, Amazon.com have only just added this tiny statement to their web page for Civilization 3: "At present this item does not ship outside of the USA." Cold comfort for those who pre-ordered from outside the USA!!
I also tried to order from ebgames.com but I couldn't find UK, Great Britain or England in the list of countries! Am I going blind or is there a hidden plot? The mind boggles..........................

I had the same problem from crappy EB,
dats why I used Amazon. And they are crap too.

I'm glad I didn't pre-order. I was going to but then I just thought I'd buy it today, obviously I won't be able to do that. What the hell do Firaxis think they're playing at? What are they going to do with all the copies of Civ3 that people outside the US have bought? Burn them? Civ3 is turning out to be a real disappointment for me.

It's not Civ 3 that is the disappointment, it's the attitude of retailers. It's the same old crap - the Yanks always get preferential treatment because the software is made by a US company!

I'll tell you this now, you're unlikely to see Civ3 on UK shelves 'til the 16th of November. This is the date that the main stores like Game, Electronics Boutique et. al. have been told they'll be getting it.

But lets just calm down a bit, eh?
OK, so we don't get to play the game 'til about three weeks after America, but hang on! The rest of Europe has a much, much worse deal. They'll be either fretting for ages about importing an English language version, or waiting for ages for their language ports ...
