Ultimate WW2 Scenario

Wow, it's clear you really put a look of work in to this, and it's sure nice to see a WW2 scenario for warlords.
However, this both a. feels incomplete and b. is far from historically accurate.
Would I then be correct in assuming this is not a final version? And if so, I'd be more than happy to offer suggestions if you would like some help.

I am not a historian and tried to do my best to simulate a World War II situation given the civ 4 warlords platform I had to work with and my knowledge of World War II. I would be open to any suggestions anyone can provide. As for it feeling incomplete, please feel free to explain why you feel this way.

Looks great! Especially I like the fact that Russia has some bigger Cities in the east what makes it possible for them to beat the germans even after losing the main western cities like moscow or leningrad. Also the marking of important areas(like the ardennes or the english channel) is nice

But I saw some confusing things:

Did i install the scenario wrong or do most of the opponents really have names like mansa munsa or hannibal?

In North Africa(or better at the shore of northafrica) the british possess some german panzer and wehrmacht units...

I can't build any Wehrmacht units...If I build them they are called Marines.

I love the V1-unit...but it was not developed before october 1942 and not used in big amounts before 1944.

Sweden was not german...never was. It stayed neutral as far as I know

At the first turn there is this german battleship north of greatbritain...its pink! I dunno...could be my fault I'm not sure.

but still a great job! I can imagine it is a damn hard job to rebuild the whole world during WWII.

Ok because of the recent bugs that have been brought to my attention I released an updated version of the scenario. Version 1.1 fixes the pink German battleship bug, makes the English Wermacht German troops as they should have been, and makes each turn equal one month rather than 1 week. The german wermacht should replace the marines, but might still be called marines. This is a bug that I might be unable to fix at the moment. If you cant build them in this version maybe I will be able to fix it in a later version. Also German,Viking, Russian, Greek, Japanese, and Italian territory have been reorganized to more accurately reflect the situation in early 1942 late 41. Now as for the names of some of the leaders of various civs. I let the names remain the same for the stock civs that were not major players in the second world war and left them to represent the various people and areas of the world rather than having barbarians represent them as I have seen done in other scenarios. And as for the comment about nazis not having v1 rockets untill october 1942......I will just say that.....they were a cool edition to the game......and I believe making the game cool is a little more important than direct adherance to historical dates! Just enjoy the game!

GET THE NEW VERSION HERE! I also updated the link above with the new version!

"As for it feeling incomplete, please feel free to explain why you feel this way."
First, I'd just like to say 1.1 addressed some of the issues from 1.0 but on to what I think you should add.
The main thing here was that there's no teams, rather several groups of independant nations in the same war, for example, Germany and Italy should be on a team, but they don't even have open borders! Also several of the nations are either named wrong, have the wrong leaders, have the wrong diplomactic states, or didn't even exist in 1941. I'll break down what I think could or should be changed, I don't expect you change everything, but some tweeks would be nice, it's up to you.

For Simplicity, I'll try to work by nation.

Germany:
Should be Allied (same team) with Italy
Should have open borders with Japan, but not be allied as that will force Japan into war with the USSR.
Should be at peace with Ireland (Ireland was not a participant in WWII at all)
Should be at peace with "Arabia"
Possibly have "Vichy" France as a Vassel state, that or at peace.
(I'll talk about "Norway" within the German changes)
In 1941, basically all of Norway had been occupied by Germany. Stockholm, is Swedish, and thus should be neutral, as it was throughout the war (with support inclined towards the Axis) the other parts you included as norway, Iceland and Greenland, were not part of Norway or Sweden, and were allied or allied occupied.

USSR:
Pretty much fine here, you might consider open borders with some of the allies, but don't make them Allied (same team) or you'll have the same USSR vs Japan problem already mentioned.

I will add more in a few hours, but I've got some frineds over pestering me for a Civ 4 game, so I can't finish it right now.

Well I have to say its very good geographical work. Cities are placed quite good and you have to work on it quite hard, because are not many (maybe no) cities without process of making some unit or building. Its very good change for normal users.

As Geographian and city editor you made excellent work. But as historian you didnt make it adequate. If you realy need 24 civilizations, you have to make these, which realy existed. Only neutral African state was Ethiopia before it had been occupied by Italy. No way to place African nation. You will need solve French problem. It may be solved by many possibilities, but you chose worst(!). Vichy France and Free France, only vichy France and colonies to British, only Free France and Vichy given to Axis...all are better than make Vichy and France together in war with Axis...

Where do you extract this single file to ? I assume it is somewhere in the Warlords files ?

Hi! Very good ww2 scenario.
I would like some changes to make it correct, some like mentioned above:
-)There can´t be build Wehrmacht-units, afterwards they are normal Marines, same thing with fighters for japan/us/germany/ussr
-)historical Vichy-France was a vassal state of 3. Reich
-)Germany and Italy same team
-)United Nationes were built after the war!!!
-)No holy cities (my opinion: a minor problem)
Maybe one version with permanent war/peace and another without, sometimes it is really annoying when you can´t declare war:mad: (or make peace after quite some time).

Hi! Any progress in this scenario or abandoned?

I think it's been abandoned. I mean, it was probably the guy's first scenario. He comes out here, proud to show his work, and the reception wasn't really good. All he got was criticisms and no one offered to help beside telling him what to do...

This kind of response is becoming too common and it makes me sad thinking how many potential modders have left the scene because of this type of reception

It seems at times that their are too many arm-chair historians on this forum but not enough modders. We need to start providing more positive support to people offering ideas and mods :(

Well said. Making a good scenario or mod requires a LOT of work and hours. Even though this is the "most moddable Civ of all", learning XML and Python takes time and practice. The mods out there are great and we need to be more appreciative of the hard work and dedication the modders have put into them.
