Forgive me if this has been posted here before, just got it and think it is hilarious and applicable:

Question asked in a world-wide UN survey:

>

> "Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food

> shortage in the rest of the world?"

>

> The survey was a huge failure:...

>

> In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.

>

> In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.

>

> In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.

>

> In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.

>

> In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.

>

> In South America they didn't know what "please" meant.

>

> In the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.

:rotfl:

that must be one of the most posted joke on the CFC boards. its still funny though. :)

Yeah. And when they circulated a poll about whether the UN should support US military action against Iraq, it failed too.

The Americans didn't know what the UN meant
The Eastern Europeans didn't know what support meant
The Western Europeans didn't know what military action meant
etc. :p

A simple joke format, but I think I have even seen before exactly the same joke as the one you posted.

I don't care, its still hilarious

I may sound ignorant, but I don't understand the joke about South America. Someone care to explain it to me?

South America has faced SEVERAL and continuous dictatorships all arround the continent till a few years ago.
Military dictatorships were strong and surelly not nice (much worst than today's Cuban regime...)

So, they didn't know "please" ;)

Not ignorant: you'll probably remember Pinochet and think:
"Of course. How could I forget?!?" ;)

Well I knew about Pinochet and Peron but I think that joke was little bit desperate since South America isn't the only place with a history of dictators.
