Hi, I'm new to the mod and loving it. Quick question: why does unhappiness for city size only appear all of a sudden around size 4? In unmodded civ, each extra member of population adds an unhappy face.

Because it's suppressed up until that size.
you either have to suck it up, or gain happiness resources/buildings to compensate for it.
Its an idea to stop cities growing too big in the earlier era's.

The suppressed unhappiness for small cities was supposed to be removed in v1050. What version are you playing?
