Ok, i downloaded a few units and i have added them to my scenarios, no problem. However, i think im doing something wrong with the unit-32 files...maybe?
When i search through the icons in the civedit program after adding the units, i never see anything that looks anything like my Carbomb, or fallout trooper or anything. Am i doing something wrong?
I dont like my carbomb to look like the manhattan projects icon when scrolling in my city window, but when i actually pick the carbomb it looks like the carbomb. Just a little something pissin me off, maybe someone could help. Thanks

It's a problem with units_32. First, did you make sure it's 256 colors? Don't know if that would make a problem, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. Also, you may have selected the wrong icon, since I've had this happen, but it appears in the game.

i mean the icon isnt there when im trying to find it with civedit. cant find it anywhere, is there anyway to add the pic?

You have to manually add the file to your units32 file. This file must not be changed to RGB nor can it be changed to have more then 256 total colors.
Back up the file, if you are modifying it for the first time.
Copy the units32 file and the small units32 icon for the unit, and copy the new item to the larger file.

It's worth remembering that there is a slight oddity with it. If you have the Editor open, and then you open up your paint program and change the units_32 file and save it, and then go back to the Editor and try to find the new icon, it won't be there. Basically, the Editor won't "see" the new version of the units_32 file. After changing the units_32 file, you need to close the scenario or mod you are looking at in the Editor and open up a different one. Then open up the one you're working on again. This forces the program to look again at the units_32 file and refresh its list of icons, as it were. And now you should be able to see the icons you have just added to the file.

what program can i use to open the unit_32 file cuz paint wont open it

Any quality paint program can. "PAINT", the freeby in Windows is nice, but VERY limited.
Photoshop is the best, but expensive. It is by far my favorite.
PaintShopPro is very nice, and not very expensive (saw it recently for 79.00 locally and for less then 50 on Ebay), it comes with AnimationShop, which is great for making GIFS.
The Gimp is free. It is a bit cludgy, but did I mention it is free? Get it from http://gimp.org/

Depending on your budget one of these should do.
If you have an older copy of the now discontinued PhotoDraw, that works too.
