unit preview: french paratrooper + "peace keeper"

If you make a bright green version of your units then they can be easily converted to almost any color. Smoking Mirror is doing this will his units for his mod. see the attached image below. The Blue is the Civ Color, the Bright Green is used for color swapping. If you were to take the clothing of your units and make it the same Bright Green that would make it easier for others to simply color make whatever color versions of these great units they wanted.

If I can choose freely:

1. Forest Spetsnaz
2. Desert-camo Modern Infantry
3. Desert-camo Parachutiste
4. Black Spetznaz
5. White/winter camo Modern Infantry
6. White/winter camo Parachutiste
7. Black Parachutiste
8. Different Berets on Parachutiste: Black, Dark Green

Hey no thread jacking ;)!

Yes, don't distract the artist!! Current mission: French paratrooper and peacekeeper.

Ok, so far I have counted four votes for the forest Spetsnaz. That means I´ll do this version first.
The second one is tied between the black Spetsnaz, sand Modern Infantry and light-brown Modern Infantry, but there is still time to decide. First need to finish the parachutiste&peacekeeper... ;)

I´ll also look into what Kal-el suggested. I have one question about it though: Have you already tried replacing the colors? How are the results? My only concern would be that the transition between colors could get very abrupt in some places, although that probably depends on how carefully the colors are replaced.

Edit:
I just took a look at Smoking Mirror´s thread and from what I can see the color replacement seems to work very well. So, I think I will give it a try.

I vote for the black Spetsnaz next.:goodjob:

Well in my opinion the black Spetsnaz looks like an Islamic Jihad or Hamas soldier.

Well that's a damn shame.
You made some of the best units for this game I've seen on any forum.
Hear! Hear! :worshp:

Here is a little update:
Yesterday, and also today, I searched the internet for some useful sounds. So far I have gathered around 6mb of sounds. It can be quite fun to listen to all those sounds. I also found some nice sounds to replace the standard windows ones. But I have enough of it now. Today I spend most of the time trying to do the fortify sound, however, with little success. The quality of what I can record is for some reasons very low (although I did buy a new microphone some months ago).
I remembered that Quake3 also has some nice sounds (basically everything you want). As it stands now I use a part of the Sarge taunt for the fortify animation.
The death sound will be equally difficult, but Quake3 also has some good choices there. I will try to use only parts of the original sounds and edit them in some way so you don´t get any unpleasent déjà vus if you already played Quake3.
Most of the sounds I downloaded are for the two victory animations. I also found some military fanfares on sounddogs.com. They only sell sounds but they also have low-quality previews of all sounds which you can listen to. I downloaded those previews and converted them to the wav format. I´m not sure if it would be legal to use the sounds according to their license, so I will send them an e-mail and hopefully they respond before the weekend.
Anyway, I also found some nice laughing sounds, which I will use for the primary victory sound of the parachutiste.
Unfortunately I didn´t find any good "whoohoo"/"yeah" sounds.

Great, Now I Can create the Multi-unit version of this, known as The Jade Commandos :D.

YES you make me so happy :)
