Unit Preview - Reaver Titan

A Reaver Titan from the Warhammer 40K world.

What's a Titan you ask? Imagine a 'mech' - but for grown-ups

How big is a Reaver? See his toe? That's bigger than your house, that is

I built the model from scratch (two days work) and am preparing to animate.

It may take up to a week to complete (it will depend on a lot of factors) and I may or may not make several variants.

Are you considering giving this a big cannon variant?
Either on his shoulder, which is a bit corny, or as an arm-replacement?

I've done the lower body animations for the Run anim ... got to do the upper body now.

hmmmm ... I'm going to need a "whirrrrrr-THUMP-whirrrrrr-THUMP" sound

The Reaver has only three weapon hard-points so cannons on the shoulders are a no-no. I might make a version without the chainfist and multiple rocket launcher and arm it with an autocannon (a mulitbarrelled 'mini-gun' style peice of artillery) and plasma gun instead (massively damaging)

A small thing to consider: I don't think, that this unit would need that much of civ-colouring. But I think you shouldn't worry about that much .

BTW will the shoulder-mounted rocketlaunchers be used in the attack anim? Would make some cool artillery attack!

There is NO Civ-colouring on this unit. The colours and weapons are a copy of my very own Reaver Titan. There's only one civilisation that builds Reavers anyway ... The Imperium!

The multpile rocket launcher on the back is a barrage weapon so this unit will have a artillery barrage animation for that (I used my own Reaver for anti-infantry work - thus the chainfist for use against buildings )

As for Elder Titans and Ork Gargants ... maybe

I've got Imperial Terminators, Space Marines, Rhinos, Vindicators,
Whirlwinds AND perhaps a Warlord Titan in the works yet!

Mucho gusto! That was fast. She's coming along fine. Great to hear that about the artillery thing.

Just to please the other users, maybe changing the shoulder pads to civ-colours?

I would say keep it in Imperial colors, as you said it was only made by the Imperium. The same with the Ork Gargants. They would sure as heck look silly in a Squat or Imperial Army!
It is looking DAMN good! Are you planning a Warhammer 40K scen or mod? That would rock if you are!

Absolutly amazing! just wow really.

Are you going to make the other imperial units on the same scale as the titan? Or are you going to have them in little squads like epic? (easier to make maybe?) Just as it may detract from the awe inspiring abilities of a titan if it goes toe to toe with a human size unit ...
