This is a preview of the Galleass Aaglo created for Civ3. I think it would be seriously very cool to have it in Civ4.

I'd hate to have to live up aaglo's ability.

I plan on doing a carrack soon, but animating it is down the road. If that goes well, who knows. ;)

That unit is dam cool! But who will make one for Civ4?

Really, are Carracks the same as Galleass? I really don't think so.
No, not at all. Carracks were the first result of the combination of Northern and Mediterranean shipbuilding, the forerunner of the Galleon. The Santa Maria (Columbus's flagship) was a carrack.

CivArmy did a carrack which is available in his Portugal mod :) .
You really got me excited there. It pains me to say, however, that the unit in CivArmy's Portugal mod is just Firaxis' caravel with a different picture on the sail. It looks nothing like a carrack

Tell me if I'm missing something.

I was wondering if that was the case since he made that Portugese civ about 6-7 months ago and no one was making new units then.

I guess it's back on my to-do list. ;)

The carrack is definitely on my list. I suppose if you aren't in a rush I'll try the Galleass as well. Ships seem a big leap from mortars and guns though.

 I just started trying to add my first Civ 4 unit tonight (actually I'll test it tomorrow). Sorry Sword Of Geddon, the Civ 4 unit making industry has a long way to go before it gets it's own aaglo! Eh, have patience though I guess...

By the way, I noticed our sigs contradict eachother:crazyeye:

I imported the Civ4 ships in max and most are 2000-3000 polys even though our modding rule of thumb is under 1000. I'm planning on redoing some hulls, but it looks like a huge undertaking.
