Unit Request: Greek Archer

same as Kal El

Maybe it's stupid, but it kind of bugs me that his ass cheeks show from the Northbound position

Looks great! A tunic (like Kryten suggested) would be great, but not at all necessary. I think that in this case you can sacrefice some historic accuracy in favour of what would be easiest for you to do (I want this unit now!! :p ) Keep up the good work! :)

As for your idea Kryten - well, changing the color in Poser takes 3 seconds... ;) and I also thought you all mean that tunic to cover his freezing ass cheeks... that bronze plate was actually requested.

I managed to fit a medieval tunic i had, it's quite heavy, but better than the loincloth i hope.

EDIT: I didn't move the quiver yet, but I'll do it.

I agree....it looks smashing.

("changing the color in Poser takes 3 seconds"....you know, one day, in the far distant future, I really must get into 3D software..... )

I just put this together in the last 10 minutes so if any of the historians here feel like improvising, go right ahead...

^[Toxotis] translates to archer in Greek, and represents those ancient Greek warriors that were armed with the bow and arrow.

^Although the bow and arrow was present among the Greeks for a long time, especially in Crete, dependence on it in the military was considered cowardice. Although it was used in some cases, such as in naval warfare where Greek triemes had 4 archers among it's crew, the Greeks much rather used their spears. When it came time for ranged weaponry, they often preferred Peltasts and Javeliners to mere archers, indeed, javelins even found their way into the legendary olympic games. However, as Greek city states and militaries grew in power, so did the role that archers played in warfare. In fact, in his famous campaigns, Alexander the Great had a number of mercenary bowmen from Crete among his ranks.

:hmm: This project seemed to be going well....Is it dead?:(

Some time ago it was normal to wait month for a unit, now people get nervous when it's not done in a week
Patience.

Sorry....No posting just seems to imply a dead project, at least in my mind...I'll be more patient...Patience is not one of my strong qualities...:spank:
