I think it would make a nice Longbowman flavor unit, btw.

Here is a Syrian Archer used as Auxilliary Archers by the Romans

I'm using it as the Palmyrian UU in the GEAM

There's a Syrian archer, and a Roman archer

They look bad in game, Steph. I know you're proud of converting and I'm happy fow you but they just look bad.

Well, I can only find the Auxilia, the Cavalry Standard, Equites, Gladiator, Infantry Standard, Legion, Preatorian and Velites for the Romans (posts 24-31)... And the only bowmen are the Syrian (33), Tribal (35), Assyrian (2), Egyptian (11)...

So you either forgot to upload it, or it's a problem with my computer. And I bet its the later, as I remember there was a Triarii on the list as well.

No, they don't. They look quite nice in game... My only complaining is that they don't look as "bulky" as the original units, but then, it's a conversion. :)

Didn´t the romans always hire mercenaries as archers?
Like the syrians and others mentioned above?
