UNIT REQUEST: Tercio

The Tercios wer the backbone of the Spanish military during its heyday. If you imagine a Conquistador, you probably imagine a Tercio on a horse. The weapons od the Tercios were mixed - they had pikes and swords or muskets. Personally I'd like to see them as upgraded pikemen, although they were much later (those early pikemen in Civ3 suck. They're anachronistically)

For multifigure unit, it'd be a great idea to have the first line pikemen, the second line Musket Men...

This is a good request but I can only see these guys as replacing the pikeman because it would be a very small jump from pikeman to tercio to musketman (the original) unless you have a gargantuan tech tree.

On the other hand, it might be kind of a big jump from spearman to tercio so possibly a tercio with a musket and pike attack would be best as replacement for musketman (original). Even though that musketman guy already kinda looks like the tercio (helmet)

The Tercio is a better Multifigure unit because the Spanish tercio was not a particular kind of soldier, but was rather a combination of pikemen and musketmen that provided defense against both cavalry and light infrantry.
