Although I have looked I have been unable to find the C-5 Galaxy which I was going to make the default air-transport plane. I was going to add it to my regular game if I could find it. Do any of you know whether it was made as a vanilla Civ-3 unit or whether it still needs to be made? There was nothing at cdgroup the US Army thread about it. Thanks, Healz.

Hi, I have a request, its a simple one. I used to have a bulldozer graphic for modern workers that I got at Apolyton for civ2. It would be really cool to have one animated for civ3. Or a steamroller or tractor would do. I don't think it's realistic to have people building roads and irrigation with shovels in the nuclear age.

I was just wondering if anyone could make a muti unit of 19th Century Riflemen by Nemesis Rex I need it for a zulu britain war scenario I'm working on and it would be greatly appreciated :D
 
Alright, here it goes.
I don't know if someone has already requested this or if anyone even reads this thread but I'd like to see the X-29 or YF-23 planes in civ3 to have something a bit different from just delta or conventional wing aircraft.
 
I have made a mod and i need these three units for them. i'd apreciate it if someone made them for me. i'll provide the icons, which i've added the icons on an expanded units_32 file(modified form zulu_9812's "expanded units_32"). [pimp] :)

I have been browsing the unit library and the new unit threads and I've seen lots of neat units.

But, something very big is missing from Civ3 and I haven't seen it addressed as of yet by any of the new units

I see in Civ 3 you get your muskets, then your rifles, then your bolt action rifles, then your machine guns, then you get tanks then bigger tanks then...... umm how do you kill a tank with any of the previous weapons? Answer: You don't :(

Where are the infantry units with anti-tank weaponry? I know it is semi-implied in Civ3 when I see a guerilla kill a tank, he didn't actually stab the tank to death...... ;)

Yet, that would be the perfect gap-filler between infantry and mech infantry (which are primarily anti-tank tanks with that Tow 2 missle launcher, which oddly never fires in Civ3....)

What i am requesting is 2 or 3 new units, i'm guessing multi-units with at least 2 guys each would be needed. I would like to see a regular infantry unit, next to an infantry unit carrying some sort of anti tank weapon (bazooka prolly as the low end for infantry) They could be built at same time as tanks, as a counter-measure defense unit.

Later on in the modern age, before you get mech infantry, prolly during rocketry, I'd add the modern infantry who have M60s and could carry Tow 2 launchers with tripods (obviously 2 or 3 guys needed for this)

I believe these units would more accurately reflect the combat abilities of infantry units amongst the rise of armor divisions.

Last but not least, taking the regular Mech Infantry and adding to it some sort of missle attack graphic for it's launcher that seems useless via original implementation. A tank of that class would not last 5 mins with the modern armor variant without using those missle packs. ;)


I hope someone will undertake this project, I think it would add so much to the game :)

In the PTW expantion you get german and american anti tank units however they can not be posted here and because they exist Im not to sure if they will be made.
 
I got PTW and it's fully updated there is not a single anti tank unit except mech infantry as I said, and that is regular Civ3, and it's missle packs don't fire either, which I think is totally lame :(

I also went through all the units that came with PTW there is no secret "hidden" unit there either. They simply don't have such units in the game, which I personally think is a very big gap in consistancy.

If there were no anti tank units till you had mech inf (which is a tank btw) our army would have no ground troops except for tank crews. Tanks would just run over any foot units without fear of even getting dented. It's bazookas and the like that make tanks more vulnerable and therefore, not so daring as to charge into ranks of infantry.

I guess what needs to be done is just the animations for infantry carrying a bazooka on his back, taking it off, loading, and firing it and modern infantry, the ones someone made I believe who carried M60s, and they need to have a new animation with one of them carring a Tow2 launcher on his back and unloading it onto the ground with attached tripod, loading it and firing it as well.

That would be the ideal situation :tank: :rocket2:

I guess I could live without it, but like I said it looks rediculous for my infantry unit gunning down a tank ......

I'm going to try my hand at a newbie attempt to make a multi unit using the anti tank combined with heavy machinegun, I hope i can figure it out :ack:

Still the regular mech infantry needs that Tow 2 launcher to fire, i've seen other units fitre launchers though I migfht end up replacing the mech inf altogether with one of those perhaps


In an effort to minimize the amount of extra units in my mod I've decided to skip out on the more modern anti tank infantry variant, i'll just keep the one i'm going to try to make with SBB to use until mech inf

For my mod I need a few Ancient Infantry units:

Warrior(unarmed, based on original warrior)
Clubman(no shield, based on the warrior):goodjob:
Staffman(non pointed staff, no shield, based on warrior)
Shielded Clubman(with shield, based on the warrior)
Shielded Staffman(non pointed staff, with shield, based on warrior)
Spearman(based on warrior, no shield)
Shielded Axeman(based on warrior, with shield)
Shielded Spearman(based on warrior, with shield)
Swordsman(based on warrior, no shield)
Sheilded Swordsman(based on warrior, with shield)
Broad Swordsman(based on warrior, no shield, broad sword)
Shielded Broad Swordsman(based on warrior, with shield, broad sword)
Long Swordsman(based on warrior, no shield, long sword)
Shielded Long Swordsman(based on warrior, with shield, long sword)

Note: All units should be based on warrior which should make it easier.

The Mech Inf. in Civ3 are actually made after the the M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle or the M2 Bradley, the main armament of the M2 is a 25mm chain gun so it really can't be a tank can it?
