The Wheel of Time series is a favorite of mine and I was hoping I could get a little help with some units. Here's what I had in mind:

1. Aes Sedai- a "princess" unit with lightning and fireball attacks.

2. Warders- a "spy" unit with a sword instead of a dagger.

3. Aiel- an "immortal" unit with multiple short spears (one in each hand).
*I've been using Nemesis Rex's immortal so far but was hoping someone could make this tweak to the unit

Thanks! :)

Any other suggestions for WoT units are welcome too.

Good point.
I just thought the immortal unit looked closer to the aiel visually. I've also used the ninja unit from the Japan Conquest of C3C since its attacks (using both hands and feet) were similar to the fighting style of an aiel.

-----
edit: now that I think about it, maybe a ninja unit with short spears and desert-terrain coloring would be the way to go...

That's what I would picture. Any chance someone will do an Aiel Leaderhead for you? That would be really awesome. One that covers their face as they get angry.

That was the first thing that came to my mind when I had planned on doing a Wheel of Time mod myself. I still might, but if someone like you has a good one it would be easier on myself to do the World map with all continents, which is what I planned to do. At the moment I've got a full plate with the current projects, so I can't do much more than suggest. What about the Black Guards? Human and Ogier for the Seanchan. That might not be the right name, I haven't read anything on the WoT in a couple of months. I'm sure you know what I mean if you're a fan though.

I was originally planning to use flags for the leaderheads since I have almost all of them already, but character faces would definitely be nice. I've been thinking about creating a world map with all the continents too, but wanted to finish a mod for the main continent first.

As it stands, I have most of the wonders and human (nonmagical) units planned out. Minamoto Samurai for the Deathwatch Guards since their armor is similar, Longbowmen for Two Rivers' Bowmen, and so on. Since the realm of the Seanchan doesn't come into play with the main continent, I was going to put some of the coastal cities under their control. Too much else to write here.

But whatever help/suggestions you can give are more than welcome.

Hopefully someone will help out with some of these units... and then I can start thinking about things like Ogier or Asha'man. :)

Deathwatch Guards! That's what I was meaning, thanks.
There's a Siamese Swordsman that uses 2 Swords like the Arafellins, he would just need two braids and more clothes.

I found the Beastman... great idea. I was considering the eagle warrior for a trolloc, but your suggestion is much better (even if the guy's practically naked :) ).

I was looking through the unit files but couldn't find the Siamese Swordman. I might have overlooked it by accident. I have already downloaded Kinboat's Kensai, which fights with two swords... is that the same unit you were talking about? If not, do you know the link? It's a good idea, and I'd like to use it.

Thanks for the help :D

Siamese swordsman is in one of the DyP unit packs by utahjazz7.

Search the Unit Forum Directory -thread with "DyP unit pack" :)

Is it going to be a mod or a scenario?

I'm not sure but won't there be a lack of units? I'm only on the start of book 5 so I don't know about the rest but how are you going to make up all the units? Or will you just have 1 or 2 units for each civ?

It'll be a mod.

With all the units between PTW and C3C, plus some of the created units already available on this site, I think there'll be enough. I'm just hoping for some help with some of the more unique/fantastical units.

No nation has only one type of fighting unit, that would seem a little mundane to me... not very accurate either. But I am hoping to give each of the playable civs at least one UU.

I read the first 10 books this summer, just finished reading the New Spring Novel, and am currently going through "The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time." It's not quite the same as his novels, but offers quite a bit of backround info. that's been helpful here. But with so much "Wheel" in so little time, you can prob see why I got it on the brain. :)

Well, good luck. I'll help if I can, with my limited knowledge. Unfortunately I don't know how to make units so I guess I'm done here.

With Trollocs, I was under the impression there were several different kinds. Am I right? If so, then couldn't any monstrous unit pass as some type of trolloc or another? Then Shai'tan's civ could have more variety. I said his name and his eyes are on me! :satan:

Oh, so now the "Dark One" and his "chosen" have their own civ now too? :D
I started them out as the barbarian tribe labled "shadowspawn." Once again there is no turning back.
Everytime I visit this site the the ideas get better (and more complicated :) )

Oh, you had them as barbs? My bad, I'm getting confused between your mod and the one I sketched out a few months ago. I was going to have the Dark One as a Balrog that is spawned by a Great Wonder buildable by the Shadowspawn only and allow it early in the game but it will only build a Dark One every 1000 turns so in effect the shadowspawn have to protect their wonder till their almost undefeatable master is released. I had planned that before I finished Crossroads at Twighlight. Since I thought it would be the last book. Of course it isn't so I'm not sure if that's a good idea. I'm beginning to wonder if he'll ever get out.

It might be good fo ra scenario that will set up a sorta of time limit for everyone to defeat the Shadowspawn or else. ;)

A thought I posted in my giga map thread, and thought I'd post it here to see the response since it involves units

----
side note: ala the inspiration from the civ3 website I've considered maybe making them (Aiel) a tradeable UU by connecting them with a resource (possibly tabac) only available to The Two Rivers (and of course all those loyal to the Dragon Reborn and those nations under his banner). Any thoughts?
