Unknown icon under city

There are various icons that appear under a city in the main screen, most are obvious and/or are explained in the manual. But what is the small flash of lightning supposed to represent ?

from electricity - hydro
from nuclear - nuclear power plant

Does power have any relevance outside of a shed-load of hammers ?

Grey star means another seat of government, such as a forbidden palace which lowers the maintenance cost due to the distance from the palace.

I don't recall a blue square, unfortunately I'm at work so can't look to see what you mean.

Is it the hammer icon? If so then it means that city is your best production city.

Or it could be the hinduism character symbol denoting this city's religion.

All of the icons are listed on that nice fold out chart that came with the game, including the power, gray star, and hinuism symbols.

As are the pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars, and green clovers.

If the icon is under the city name, it would have to be a religion, wouldn't it? So it's Hinduism.

All the above refer to icons "under the city name". So why in my games are these icons OVER the city's name ? No, I am not in Australia . . .

Power just provides +50% production to a Factory (on top of the normal 25% bonus).

So does a factory with power provide +50% or +75%? I've wondered for awhile and havn't seen it written clearly anywhere.

Don't quote me, but I think the miserable red and green faces appear at the top to denote unhappy population and a sick population.
