Because I was terribly busy at the moment I was writing update 0 I didn't have time to include everything I wanted there.
On the Ox:
Nowhere has it been said that the Ox would be skinny, instead it has a much more regular shape (which allows for the maximal volume/surface area ratio) than most other ships. If anyone would be skilled enough to draw realistic pictures of these ships I would include them.
On politics:
Earth is divided into five superpowers (you can guess some of them, I think) but it doesn't matter because they stay on the surface.
The Union controls Gateway and has several military bases around the inner Solar System, the most important being in Challenger.
The Free Republic of Mars is by far the biggest independent power (in population, industrial capacity and such).
The other colonies are each independent. There are no political conflicts between them and the governments mostly (try to) keep the order and prevent smuggling. The private organisations, corporations and militia are more influential outside them.
The government systems vary: direct democracy (a city on Jupiter), corporate republic (most colonies), tecnocratic meritocracy (Europa), and the anarchism of the pirates.
The Church of the Sacred Soul is not confirmed to have any colonies under its own rule, but neither not to.
The Asimovites are a speculation which has caused a lot of uneasiness in many frontier colonies.
In update 1 there will be a thorough story about something and it should provide a starting point for your stories.
