Unofficial BTS 3.13 patch

I pay tribute and the next turn the same civillization declares war on me because he's creating a colony which possesses the spirit of the opponent I vanquished just a few turns earlier--with 616 war weariness as well.

Will installing the patch now affect a game already in progress, or since my game was started without the unofficial patch, is it mega. .. .. .. .ed?

From my experience you can install the patch at any point in a running game wthout trouble...

Go into your options and click "Automated workers leave old improvements".

Otherwise, you pays your dime and you takes your chances.
I was going to reply to him and suggest this, but then I thought, "you know automated workers should probably NEVER get rid of a resource improvement". So yes it feels like a bug.

That's a bug that came with the official 3.13 patch, this unofficial patch here fixes it. First install the official patch, then apply the unofficial one, and it should be fine.

When I try to install the official patch, it says that the game is already updated.
How do I uninstall the other patch? Also I don't really know which patch is the official and unofficial one when downloading because they have the same name
but the one I just downloaded says the same thing with a 2 in the front of it.

The official patch v3.13 is available inside the game, using the Advanced / Check for Updates.

After you do that, you don't want to uninstall the unofficial patch. Just download it and follow the instructions to install. It's v1.11 and available here:

That's my opinion as well. Automated workers should not disconnect a sole resource.

Agreed, though my statement was stronger than that. I think auto workers should never disconnect any resource.

Given a discussion of automated AI behaviour, I'd probably agree.

Of course, I'm the guy that will replace a fort-held-resource outside of the BFC with a mine just for aesthetics.

The game makes decisions based on the rules described in the various files. This unofficial patch changes the rules in one of these files. So any decisions made by the game after you've installed the unofficial patch will be based on the new rules, but already made decisions (like declarations of war) will not be reversed.

The best thing to do would be to install the unofficial patch and then go back to an old savegame before the creation of the colony.

The workers of AI civilizations, and your own i think if you automate them, will also develop tiles that do not contain resources and are outside any city's fat cross. Which is to say they are worthless. I think workers should be modified to automatically go to a city and stay idle when there is no "useful" work they can to. I've also seen workers replace a tiles improvement with a different improvement, for apparently no reason except that that civ has workers with nothing better to do. I've seen them replace farms and cottages with workshops until the city population declines, and them build farms over the workshops.

Becuase of the wealth of knowledge in this thread I am hoping to find a fix to my OOS problems.

SO far I have tried: turning off random events, clearing cache (CIV4, WRLDS, & BTS) installing this patch to patch 3.13 and many other little tweaks.

Still I get to about 400 A.D. and like clockwork...OOS....

Any suggestions? (FYI - I am using no cd version)

Hence the different version notice....

Hmmm....I guess I'll try going back to normal 3.13 patch and see what happens..thanks for the input~

Uninstall BTS
Uninstall Warlords/Civ
Delete Civ folders in Program Files
Delete civ folders in My Documents/My Games
Install BTS
Install Patch 3.13
Install Bhuric's latest patch

Do this for ALL PC's. Also, it seems they need to be the same version of base civ - the 2-disc PCCD-ROM or the 1-disc DVD-ROM.

Fixed my problem.
