Unofficial Patch for Vanilla

How about chariots 100% vs axemen. Thats a big change, but lacking the barb spearmen it leaves the chariot overpowered a bit.

Never thought about including the changes made in Warlords itself (thought someone else would have done that by now). If you spot any other changes needed let me know.

WHY?

if warlords is an ADD-ON, why hasn't the patch been made for the original as well, as has been said, why outlay more money for a patch that should have been in the original.

Granted you don't have certain, units, buildings, traits etc. But you could patch it so, moving from Original to Warlords is not such a large jump.

One game I played, Settlers 3, they made a patch for the Amazons add-on, but included the same features in patch for the orignal, just no Amazons, campaign, traits, etc.

If they want to drive people to buy add-on to get the new, improved features, that SHOULD have been in original, they have a broken product. ADD-0N should be sold on its own merits, not as a "the full working game', and not the 'broken, taste of a game'.

Sorry, addition, CivDude86, thank you for doing this...

Not only do they not support the original but there was even a comment on these boards that implied that they were going to support vanilla after warlords was released. Because at the time a few of us were raising a stink about it. Of course, when warlords came out conveniently they decided they would not.

I still find it rediculous that this is deemed as acceptable but whatever. At least the community has people willing to provide these updates for the common non-modder players. Unlike the company itself.

CivDude, Kudos for doing this.

No problem.
If no one has any issues or suggestions I'll go ahead and submit it to the mod database.

Thanks, but I think barracks should be restored +4. The only reason to downgrade it is because of the great generals.

No chance for another patch to the original?

Nice going civdude!

How about a patch that allows you to build railroads with either Uranium, Oil or Coal?

Warlords doesn't touch vanilla at all (just creates a Warlords folder) so yes it will do something.

It is indeed a poor example for gardening customer relation. Actually, what dshirk of Firaxis stated in the thread was the following:

It was mentioned a few times in this thread that Warlords will be required for future Civ 4 patches. Where was this ever mentioned before? As an FYI, Civ 4 will remain independent of Warlords for any future patches. :)

HA, HA! "Independent" meaning being unhitched like an obsolete train wagon... pathetic. Nice twist in words.
OTOH, we're only customers and dumb ones, too- so why care?

Leaving it to the community to do the work that should have been done officially is lousy.

But thy CivDude for your efforts

If you don't support fireaxis by purchasing warlords..... then why should they offer you any further support? Console gamers don't get a single patch. Just think yourself lucky they've given you as much as they already have. Half of you seem to think fireaxis owes you something.
