Hello.

After I run the Civ 5 .exe and click on either version of dX (I've tried both), the game appears to load for a few seconds and then the loading animation and process disappears, not even displaying an error message.

Here's some specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8700 @ 2.53GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
GFX: NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M

If you need more information please ask. I've tested my computer on Can You Run It, passing the minimum requirements but falling short of the recommended.

Recently I've tried reinstalling both Steam and Civ 5 and updating video card drivers, Windows Update, and DirectX, but to no avail.

Some other things of note:
-While I have Steam set to automatically update, I have not seen it actually patch the game. How would I check the version number of the game?

-I don't have a Civilization V folder in My Documents, so I can't disable fullscreen or do other init solutions. I believe it's due to the game not even launching, but if that's not the case I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks in advance.

Windows 7 is up to date, but Steam was apparently installed in Vista compatibility (and I don't know why) but compatibility mode is now disabled for it. Would I still need to reinstall it?
