Anyone playing this game? I purchased it for a LAN party a few weeks ago and I love it. I even got my wife into playing it (she is NOT a computer gamer).

How is it compared to UT and UT2003? I was kind of disappointed when I got UT2003, because everything wasn't so clear as in UT.

I was disappointed in UT 2003 also but I think this game is much better. It runs smoother and has a new battle mode I believe, Onslaught (driving vehicles is pretty fun). You can get the game in a DVD edition where it installs from just one DVD instead of 6 CDs! the best part about that is that DVD transfer speeds are much faster than CD inaddition to not having to swap out to different media.

Compared to UT - much better graphics but 'feels' the same - a good thing. Even if you have a shoddy computer you can lower the graphics down (lowest I would recommend would be a 1GHz CPU with a GeForce 4 MX and 256MB of RAM). The game ran pretty nice with a 2GHz CPU, GeForce 4MX, and 256MB of RAM. I had to dial the graphics to normal instead of maxed out but I was able to have all the special visual effects on and still get around 30 fps.

Hm, I have 850MHz and 384MB SDRAM. But I'm sure that's suffice. If necessary I'll play in 320x240. :crazyeye:

Cool to hear it 'feels' the same as in UT. ;)

You can probably get away with 640x480! ;)

I was disappointed with UT2003 as well but I guess I might get around to at least playing the demo at some point to see whether it is any good.

I didn't enjoy the UT series until 2004, but it seems all the game modes make this game replayable. Onslaught is the best thing since CTF (the original one for Quake).
Is it just me, or is the Bio-Sludge cannon worthless in MOST cases? As a matter of fact I have never killed anyone with it.

reply to #1: I know what you mean, my friends girlfriend doesn't play games but she absolutely loves playing UT2004 with us.
