Please someone help,I have been playing this game for ever, but as yet I cannot find a source of uranium....And believe me I have tried, looking at every city throughout the game.

It comes along late in the game in one to a few cities (maybe about 2-3% or so.) ElephantU & TimtheEnchanter are up on Solo's great work on trade & they can provide better details.

I think I posted (or was ready to post) some screen shots of Uranium trades -- at one time I had 7 out of 150+ cities with supply.

Even with the 4x payoff I was bumping up against the beaker limitation so my gains from trade never reached $4K -- best I think was a little over $3K per delivery.

I think that oil & silk are better bets to pay attention to -- much better supply/demand activity -- but one shouldn't snub trade in any way that comes along. :)

Uranium and Oil are very good to trade in. Oil is findable, and will usualy be suplied for some time before it is demanded. Uranium is demanded in many, many cities soon after it comes available. When you think about it, it is a bad thing because it bumps out more findable resources in the demand section. Odd isn't it, that the resources that are worth the most are the most pollutent... Uranium should have a connection with the production of nuclear arms, though, it would make them harder to build...

Is there a bug that prevents cities from demanding oil? I've never seen one, though I've seen plenty of cities that supply it. I'm using MGE, patch 5.4.0f.

I have only ever seen uranium supplied once before which made me 2K! Oil is generally a better trading strategy though.

Uranium was once being produced by my capitol. If I rememebr correctly I think I had a Nuclear Plant built there. It dissapeared after I built my Solar plant however.

Uranium supply is enabled by the tech Nuc Fission (NF). Supply increases for cities with lots of non-foliage rough land (Desert/Tundra/Glacier/Hills/Mtns). Bigger cities are more likely to supply it; cities of size 1-2 cannot. Demand is also enabled by NF, and is linked to number of techs you have, city size, and improvements (NucPlant and SDI). So ICSers who put their cities on plains or grass probably won't see much Uranium.

Oil is rare before Combustion (Cmb), and also increased by rough land (Desert/Tundra/Glacier/Swamp). For some reason Continent #9 was found to increase Oil supply as well. Demand is enabled by Industrialization (Ind), and tripled by Auto (Aut). It also increases by number of techs, city size, and improvements (Factory & SuperHighways), but MassTransit and RecyclingCenter decrease demand.
