Great People are great :)
But their usefulness seems to drop off in the late game (varies with type obviously, GG as useful as ever, GM can still do trade missions etc)
What do you do about them late game once you have any corps you want and Golden Ages cost a prohibitive amount of them?
As far as I can see you can either basically forget about them and cottage/workshop your cities down to no/minimal food surplus or save them and hope to get 4 or 5 different ones for a late GA.

That's basically it. You burn them for GA's or make corps.

Maybe if you know you won't get enough of them in the future and you're in a tight space race you could bulb? I've never had those conditions met though.

I generally save them for GAs, and if I am planning a space win, I will save s bunch for GAs while building parts.

If its a war-domination type game, I use them for GAs to get into and out of military techs. 3 turns of anarchy is brutal at that point, although recently I have started having the anarchy near the end of the war, and letting the civil unrest count down during the anarchy.

I still dont utilize corps very well though. I tend to stay in SP until the end of the game once I hit Communism.

In my current game I'm pretty much a CE but I was too lazy to fully cottage/workshop my 61 cities after getting Biology and Sid's Sushi so a lot of my cities have ended up running half a dozen specialists and I've spent a lot of hammers on health and happiness buildings. In most cases they have little to no chance of generating GP so I should have probably have cottaged/workshopped everywhere except my GP Farm. Of course what i really should have done was gone for domination after getting astronomy but again too lazy

I'd need 4 GP for another GA and its pretty hard to generate specific types of GP without caste system.

bulb; future tech 1, future tech #x... as inefficient as it sounds, but getting one more tech adds abit to score...

for instance if I get a ge(I'm usually going with sushi, less with sp lately, and naturally running quite some engineers for production) and I know I'll already get one from fusion for a ga, I bulb the ge since none of the parts can be rushed anyway. Or speed the elevator as it also adds to the score(and that's about it, crappy wonder). Same, if I know I'll only get 1 more gp and I need 3 for my next ga, I'll bulb all 3, including the fusion guy(2ges and 1 random still won't give me a ga).

basically, pointless milking the score(pointless as I don't do hof games, and anyway, 20-30 more base score or how much a tech is worth...)

also founding crappy corps. I never expand in crappy cities(again for score, and in crappy cities as they'd overwrite my mining or sushi). But with sp, so no corps, just bulbing.

I use golden ages when I'm building something like Internet or Space Elevator. And I'll often save a GE for Cristo Redentor at Radio if I'm not spiritual already.

And great artists are always useful if going for a culture win. And of course settle any GP if you have Sistine Chapel for that culture bonus.

In the late game, I always burn them on golden ages. They are also useful for founding corporations, but I rarely do that as I'm a warmongering state property addict.

If you can't get any golden ages (reasonably), and settling it won't do much good (too late to really matter), and you don't need it for any corps. Then bulb techs for score, they might give you 1 turn on a future tech, which is at least something :p
