I got the demo of Unreal Tournament 2004 about a week ago. Man, is that game good. I'd have the full version right now if it weren't for my crappy dial-up connection. Without broadband play, it's kind of limited.

Has anyone else played this game? Or at least the demo?

I hear it's third-person...?

According to one of my friends, he says that UT2004's gameplay is too shallow. What he means by that, I have no idea. To me, all FPS are the same, and quite boring. Only exception is Goldeneye, the only FPS I have ever enjoyed.

No, it's definately first person. The only time you'll ever be in the third person is when you're driving a vehicle. Which is loads of fun, I might add.

Unreal Tournament 2004 is AWESOME

I have the retail version.

It's good.

ONSLAUGHT PWNZ U ALL!!!

When I played Unreal Tournament 2003 for te first time I was majorly disappointed. Everything in the original UT was much clearer. How it this in UT2004?

I think it's excellent, as good and mostly better than the previous versions

not feeling like explaining a FPS scrub the indepth gameplay behind UT2k4, Quake 3 etc because it will be pages and pages of information............

I love the vehicles.

Hearing "Top Gun" three times in a row is really cool :-)

@Matrix: What do you mean 'cleaner'?

I think he means less complicated, more simplistic. There was something about UT 2003 that I didn't like, and hence haven't bothered to try 2004.
2003 just added a bunch of stuff (generally in maps) that wasn't needed, and it just made the game less fun. The only thing which was 'improved' was the graphics. Facings worlds was especially bad (in 2003).

I like it and all but 5.5 Gigs for the full version is way too much for me. 500mb is great. 1gb is pushing it but safe. 2gb would have to be a REALLY cool game.

The original Facing Worlds is probably the best map ever, it was a shame that they decided to double the size of it in 2003 and make sniping far less effective...

I actually didn't like Facing Worlds in UT at all, because the sniper rifle was far too effective. :p Though it's fun shooting down all these stupid bots.

I also like to play with a friend against 16 novice bots on a normal map.
