We need more ships from what i can tell.
We should target the two islands to the west of the mainland on the other continet once we get that we have a firm base to start our conquest of that continent. So after the Austrians are dead maybe we could try a war with the Teal people (Persians?)
We will need at least like 7 Galleons full of calvary and 3 Galleons full of Infaltry plus Frigate escorts. oh and also like 3 galleons filled with artillary.
With that we should be able to destory the teal people from the other continent. Thats my 2 cents.

Byzantium is currently number 2, behind us of course, and our power base is in the south so that sounds like a straightforward approach Bugs. Course with rail we could land in the north too. Incan MPP with Byzantium is probably 19 turns to go so any engagement will involve them.

Teal is Hittites and their island has oil and an Incan rubber city so it would be a hot prize, but I've been seeing the Hittites more as a pivot point between the two power brokers, purple Portugal and red Byzantium. Currently teal is at war with red and I helped prop them up a bit.

BTW, given the challenge of taking the rest of Austria in 10 turns was irresistable and a lot of fun, thanks all for laying that one up to me.
 
We should try not to get in a long bloddy battle so we should take out the weaker ones first then if we dont win by then we will declare war on the bigger ones.

MM using Civil Engineers in our most corrupt cities to dramatically increase production times in some very corrupt cities.

So here’s the plan. Wipe out the Austrians. The set up the next player… VB? for an invasion of the Byzantines.

Why do we have so many conscript units? No wonder we have so many ticked off people. The draft doesn’t work well in a democracy. Hopefully our government won’t collapse before the war ends.


IBT – Build five galleons and a market.

1. 1550 AD – Lots of go-to’s and workers automated. Hurry two more galleons up by Austria.

Set up for landing the first wave on the Austrian island.

Trade Theodora Electronics for Ironclads, WM & 406G. Sell Ironclads to Portugal for 806G & WM. The silly Austrians still won’t acknowledge our envoy.

IBT - We have some serious WW. %^$#@ Draft.

2. 1555 AD – D-Day – first wave lands. Rush four temples up in former Austrian lands.

IBT – Sumeria and Portugal sign a peace treaty.
Build four temples and two galleons.

3. 1560 AD - @ Feldkirch: bombard down the defenders from across the strait. We lose one HP in capturing the city.

Set up for the final Austrian city.

We might have a settler in a boat.

IBT – Byzantines & Hittites sign a peace treaty.
Austria wants to talk. Did all these troops outside your gates convince you? Sorry too late. A LB attacks our infantry and dies. The Austria galley runs into port. No more settler in a boat.
Build a stock exchange, two inf, two temples, three ducts,

4. 1565 AD – The strong Austrians have been destroyed. Rearrange all our cities. Drop lux to 20%.

IBT – A bank, two galleons, a market

5. 1570 AD – Hurry the temple in Eisenstadt.

IBT - Universal Suffrage completes. Two galleons, a duct, a temple, and an infantryman complete.

6. 1575 AD – Setting up for the Byzantine invasion. Science drops 10%. Upgrade all veteran pikes and a vet spear. Costs a good chunk of change, but it will be worth it. Anything that is regular or below won’t be upgraded. We’ll only want veteran troops going into battle.

IBT – Build two galleons

7. 1580 AD – Chopping trees. “I’m a lumberjack and I’m OK”

IBT – Sanitation comes in. Steel next. Science at 50% due in 9.
Build 1 artillery, 2 galleon, 1 infantry, Bruck riots.

8. 1585 AD – Chopping and sailing.

IBT – Hittites & Portugal sign an MPP.
Hittites declared on Byzantines.

9. 1590 AD – Ditto.

IBT – Build 1 clad, 1 inf, 1 arty, 1 court, 1 bank,

10. 1595 AD – :sleep:

After Action: We have 44 units off the coast of the Byzantines, with another 12 within 2 turns of landing.

With the Byzantines’ present war with the Hittites most of their forces will be in the west. While there will be some response to our landing they won’t be able to respond a lot. The Byzantines are in Fascism, and their military is stronger than ours. However, they will be split with a two front war. Best of luck!

Nice work Bugs, look at that strike force! I wouldn't be too concerned with a war of attrition, our size and production will outclass any other nation in the long run. Bloody battles are how we Mayans operate!

Only issue is Democracy. If we're going to be in it for the long haul, we may have to change to something more resilient.

Sorry for all the conscripts folks. I got a little excited in my Austrian war and wanted to make sure we had the strength on the books to a) prevent any other nations from an opportunistic landing and b) to rush the Austrians with a lot of defenders (as it was I lost one city to revolts). WW and the draft penalty clear when you make peace (or crush your enemy) right?

Is Andvruss going to be around in the next few days or do we need to pass him this time around?
 
These turns will probably take some time, so don't rush.
 
Nice force there Bugsy! What are those galleons filled with? 2 way battle will easily take them over. BTW, do we have enough troops to split into 3?
 
I'm not so sure about this invasion actually. Just noticed the ironclad in Byzantine waters. We're going to lose a lot of tonnage on any invasion and likely a lot of men too. Maybe we should consider holding off until we can get some defensive shipping in place? Though I'm not too keen on building frigates when destroyers are right around the corner...
 
If we declare, then land our troops, none of our combat units will be lost at sea. The galleon has defense 4, the ironclad has attack 4. Those aren't bad odds. We have extra galleons available for escort duty. We also have a bunch of ironclads being commissioned in the next two turns. The issue isn't going to be control of the sea. The issue is going to be how much the Hittites can distract Theodora before we can get a beachhead established. Andvruss is just the guy to execute the landing.
 
Cool, sounds well thought through. Do the Hittites need anything we can give them? We might want to MA with them with some luxury or resource to ensure that they stay in the war while we're engaged.
 
To answer VB's earlier question: those galleons are filled with 44 units, about eight arty, 5-7 cavs, and the rest vet infantry.
 
We have enough to defeat them easily (as long as the RNG lets us) especially when they have to try and fight off other civs at the same time. Hows the turns going Andvruss?
