Are the mods very very busy?

I sent two PMs to Cunobelin Of Hippo, gonzo_for_civ regarding the main boards. I asked Cunobelin Of Hippo to make the thread "1000 clues that you're playing Civ3 too much" a sticky and Gonzo_for_civ if he could delete one of my posts because I accidentally double-posted in a thread.

No responses from either of them.

I was wondering whether they are very busy or not.

It is only a question.

Can't speak for them, but I usually will answer a PM in 12 hours or less, depending on when on online.

If I'm here and see it, I will answer right away.

Doh! I remember that now. It was actually on my to-do list and I crossed it out assuming I had gotten it done. For now I'll just leave the double post but usually I answer PMs as soon as I get them.

As for hippo he is canadian :D ;)

That "1000 clues that you're playing Civ3 too much" is a good thread but it's not necessary to make it sticky.

Stickys are mainly for information threads. :)

Don't you know people hate stickies? ;)

I thought they would love stickies. I like them a lot. They put the most important threads on the first page so they don't get winded down to the second page where they get lost - especially in the General discussion forum where a day-old post can wind up in page 2.

Well I can no longer make any threads sticky anyways. I'm getting a stupid session invalid error....

If a thread on jokes about Civ3 warrant being among the most important threads in the Civ3 GD forum, I think there's a problem..... :) I think such things are best left to the judgement of the powers that be.

Exactly. GD is for serious matters.

Huh... If a thread makes it to the second page, I no longer deem it important enough to look at. If it makes it back to the first page, sure I'll look, but otherwise... :crazyeye:

This has to be symptomatic of something, but of what, I am not sure.
:D

First, what's GD anyway?

What does this mean Lefty?

Civ3, General Discussions.

What does this mean Lefty?

Lefty was just kidding with you that your liking stickies is a sickness since most people absolutely despise them.

And do you think the 1000 clues thread will ever get knocked back that far for that long anyway? Since it's always fairly near the top I don't see much reason to make it sticky, even if it is worthy of being sticky-fied (which IMO it isn't, since it isn't imformative or important, as others have said).

My apologies for not replying until now - I read that PM, immediately discarded the idea (reasons discussed by others above) and decided to postpone a return note until my next time online as I was rather busy. Of course, I haven't been anywhere near my PM box since then, and had forgotten completely about it until now ;)

Hehehe, such a good maud! ;)

And yes, down with stickies!!!

LOL...the retired maud strikes again.....go back to your hard iced tea ph!

And I agree...down with stickies!!!!

If you want to see a LOT of stickies go to the demo game II forum under RPG subforum

I thought you said you will add that All Your Base line back to your sig, PH. ;)

Ok what's the deal with stickies anyway? I don't get it...

Stickies are fine when you have 3 or 4... Anymore than that will cause riots. :D People just hate to see the same threads at the top of the page everyday.

I can remember the first time I came here. 5 stickies, and a couple of posts that were moved. You could imagine my confusing as to why November 2001 was above February 22nd. :) Then going to the 'moved' post and popping out (from Civ3Gen) to Civ3 Creation & Customization.
