What I think Verbose is reffering to is the restrictions on the French Armed Forces, which seem to be a word for word copy of the treaty of Versaile. 100,000 troops,no aircraft, no tanks, no navy, no heavy artillery.
Not the occupation of the Atlantic coast.

75% of the country is occupied by June 1940.
100% of the contry is occupied by November 1942.
The occupation was not simply about the Atlantic Coast. :lol:

That's why I don't get the point in Verbose's comparison. Somehow, the Vichy military had then towards the German army about the same status as the Iraqi military currently has towards the US army. That's far from what was the status of the German army after 1918.
