Dark Earth is pretty amazing. It's made during the days where there are no 3D accelerator cards... and it's challenging as it places a time limit on the player (the protagonist was poisoned, slowly turning into a beast). And you must know how to play Othello (aka Reversi). 
These days people don't appreciate that... just look at NWN2's hunger meter. Some people seek tweaks to the hunger/alignment adjustments, which is fair... but some don't even try it and already decided to turn it off.

Dark Earth was cool. I don't know how hard this one will be I tried to not make it too hard.(the graphics although I thought they were cool back then - really suck now.) I don't know anyone else who actually played this game. It was pretty cool though. I never beat it. I always starved to death or got lost in the first underground dungeon when my torches all went out and my screen was black. I loved this game though. I must have tried getting through that dungeon a half million times.

Nope. This one may be harder than I thought. I thought that screen would be a dead give away. Let me pull up another though.
Here we go, these shots are hard to find because another game I used to play has a more recent title out with the same name. I will also throw in slight hint. It was a 3.5" Floppy game for PC. I will give another good hint if no one gets it from this. This is the starting screen when you first start a game and make up your charactors.
