I've been playing civ4 lan with two friends a whole lot on my windows XP-installation. Now i has upgraded to Vista and what a bad idea that turned out to be...

Even with IPv6, Windows Firewall and Windows Defender turned off i still can't see my friends lan games in the lan-lobby. I can with out a problem do a direct connection to one of my friends, but then the 3rd apperently can't join, since direct connection only allow 2 computers.

We are all behind the same router so we all get the same ip-range and subnet and so on...but something (vista vista vista) seems to be blocking the LAN-request when i try searching for other lan-games.

When i host a lan game my friends can't see my game neither.

...Any ideas on how i get vista to stop messing with my civ4 game?

I'm also having problems playing a LAN game. My boyfriend and I set up a wireless network between our two laptops, we're both running Vista. We've allowed Civ 4 through our firewall, and then even tried turning the firewalls off completely. However when one of us creates a game in the LAN option, its not showing on the others. Please help?

install BtS and update to the newest version (3,19) - that should take care of the old crappy netcode...or atleast it did for me :)

We already have BTS the version we got is Civ 4, BTS and Warlords in one. And Netcode? we're not using the internet.

Netcode: Part of the coding in the program that handles how that program communicates with other computers over a network - LAN or Internet, it's all the same.

My only advise is to update to the newest patch, which is 3.19
