Vista - Civ4 is fine, but patch & BTS can't detect Civ4

Ok, I changed my version from 1.72 to 1.74 and it STILL is telling me that no previous version of Warlords could be found.

The funny thing is, I also attempted to reinstall 1.74, and the same thing was said about Civ IV in itself...

Is there possibly a patch that will be compatible to Gold?

This is the exact same problem that Cxt had.

I have Civilization Gold under my Add/Remove Programs, I changed the registry keys from 172 to 174, I have made sure to restart my computer before reinstalling, I am an admin, and for some reason, when I try to put on the patch, it reads that it is unable to find a previous updated version for both when I tried to install 1.74 for Civilization and 2.08 for Warlords.

However, I am pretty sure that it does not matter whether or not I have a Gold version of Civ because Cxt had an original version. I have an XP if that makes any difference, but once again, I do not know for sure. I am not a computer wiz unfortunately

If it makes any difference, my build was the final release and the build version was 2.1.3.0

Also, when I attempt to update my version via the 'update' button under 'advanced', it says that there are no new versions of the game available.

Civ4 Gold does not need to be patched.
the only problem is when trying to install Beyond the Sword - then the registry keys may need to be changed.
