Idea fior fascist World Wonder- Nuremburg Rally- gives temporary cut in military production time and -50% war weariness also for temporary period). Idea a one-off rally calling the people to war. maybe the - war weariness effect could reduce over time.

I know facsism is already good for war but this World wonder would allow one civ launch an all out facsist assualt for a time..... sort of a golden age for war.

Interetsing about the Berlin Wall. what it really was was an attempt to block Western culture so it should act as a "culture shield"- maybe good in border cities that otherwuise could be influenced too much by a foreign culture (and a espionage bonus)-

downside negtaive reaction by other civs ?

To be perfectly honest, I don't have a very good idea of what I want the Berlin Wall to do just yet. The reason I want it is that I consider it to be such an iconic structure that I want to include it in game. It's also one of the hard-to-find (although I have been trying to make more of them) Great Spy wonders.

Over in the thread about Great People, urtho said that one of the problems with early Great People is extra-long Golden Ages caused by getting Mausoleum of Maussollos and Cheomseongdae. Looking up Cheomseongdae reveals that it was built in the 7th century, which is closer to the Medieval Era than the Classical. I think it would be better if it was at Alchemy. Optics is a little too late for this.

Also while thinking about the Medieval Era, I looked up the Porcelain Tower, and its construction dates to the 15th century. This is actually not the Medieval Era, but the Renaissance, and China definitely entered the Renaissance Era before Europe did. I think it would be better if it was moved to Political Philosophy. I don't want to overload Divine Right with Wonders and it already has three (Versailles, Spiral Minaret, and Temple of Heaven). Political Philosophy doesn't have much, only the Defensive Pact ability and the House of Parliament national wonder.

What do you think of this?

I like both ideas, and they do make sense as well :)

No offense, but I think that the Iron curtain is just as iconic as the Berlin wall, but easier to get bonus for it. Why don't you wanna do it?

I like Cheomseongdae and the Porcelain Tower changes.

Is this working correctly for everyone else? In my latest game I built this wonder and I'm getting the pop-up nearly every single turn. It's insanely annoying having to click thru the same exact pop up nearly every turn. It seems to be having the intended effect and does pick a different leader on each pop-up so i get the "so-and-so leader is making a state visit to my capital" in the logs, but the pop-up message box happens FAR more often then the 50 turns you point out here. Used Marathon gamespeed in that game if it matters.

I like the gameplay effects you've given this wonder but given how it's working from a game mechanics standpoint, this wonder is too annoying right now to ever actually build it again.

EDIT -> oh and good to see you're looking into the issues I raised in the other thread. I think you've got good ideas on potential fixes.

I've been playing on Quick and Normal and don't see it every other turn... Wonder what's causing that

I just tested Blarney Castle myself in a game and it seems to be working fine. It triggered exactly at turn 200. I'm not sure why it didn't trigger at 100, but it did trigger on schedule. It's a very simple Python call to figure out if the turn number is at the right point (50 turns times the ratio of max game turns to standard game turns). So I don't know why you would be seeing it trigger every single turn. I'd post your save game in the bugs thread.

I've also built the barney castle on a previous game and it worked as intended.

    Regarding an earlier subject...

... I just found the following in http://modiki.civfanatics.com/index.php/Civ4BuildingClassInfos:
    Column 1 Column 2
iExtraPlayerInstances Number of building class that can be constructed if the limit has already been reached (used to allow the Palace to be moved)[/I]

So to my undersanding it is possible to move a misplaced NW to an other city.

Not as if it was a very important issue, but possible as I see.

I realized that if I am going to move Cheomseongdae and Porcelain Tower, I should probably recost them as well to fit in with the other wonders of the same era. I decided to take a look at the other wonder costs and reduce some outliers. Here are some revised wonder costs:
    • Chichen Itza: 400 (down from 650)
    • Pyramids: 400 (down from 600)
    • Terracotta Army: 400 (down from 500)
    • Great Wall: 350 (up from 250)
    • Pont du Gard: 500 (down from 700)
    • Apostolic Palace: 600 (up from 440)
    • Cheomseongdae: 650 (up from 500)
    • Porcelain Tower: 700 (up from 580)
    • King Richard's Crusade: 500 (up from 330)
    • World News Network: 2000 (down from 2600)
    • Nanite Defuser: 2000 (up from 1000)

This is just a starting point.

I especially value the Great Well and Terracotta Army changes. I always felt in my games that the first one is too cheap and the other is too expencive compared to other stuff in their era.

Quick question - how often is King Richard's Crusade supposed to spawn a Crusader? In an Epic game, I built the wonder 16 turns ago and, other than a Crusader a received on the turn it was built, I haven't received any.

It varies by gamespeed. On Epic or slower, it's supposed to trigger every 16 turns. Do you get a Crusader if you play a couple more turns?

Edison's Workshop has always seemed to me to be a little bland for a Wonder. It only affects the building city (with +50% :science:), and what I think should be a core rule of World Wonders is that they should benefit your entire civilization. What if we reduced Edison's Workshop to +25% :science: and gave it +1 :hammers: from Scientist specialists? I'd really like to do the opposite (+1 :science: from Engineers) but the current XML does not support that.

The National Anthem is a fairly simple building, but I'm trying not to over-complicate things. It is a National Wonder, can only be built by a Great Artist, and can only be built if you are running the Nationalist civic. It gives +1 :) to all cities and then has +4 :culture:/+1 Great Artist point, which I think is about average for a National Wonder.

    Small observation:
The Kremlin does not produce culture, unlike any other wonder (that I am aware of).

Just thinking: Shouldn't it provide some Civwide :culture: bonus too?
