With the introduction of GS I've noticed a large discrepancy in the amount of effort put in to find volcano names for nations. For example for Sweden they dug up the names of some eroded cretaceous remnants of volcanoes whilst nations that actual have multiple volcanoes only have 1 or 2 names ones assigned to them such as China only having Mount Paektu (which is actually called Changbaishan in Chinese since Paektu is the Korean name for it), China also has numerous historically active volcanic fields and others that have been dated to Holocene age. And we haven't even touched on Taiwan yet. Korea only has Paektu and Hallasan listed as volcanoes despite at least 4 names including those two being available with a simple google search.

I also believe that if a nation runs out of names maybe it should borrow for a geographically nearby other nation rather than randomize it completely, assuming said nation isn't already in the game of course.

Not sure if this deserves a thread of its own but making a list of potential names as well as digging up all the ones available for certain nations would probably take a lot of space and need to updated with research.

But anyway, here goes. I'm going to add some suggestions for new names to be added to the roster.

-Chinese Volcano Names-

<Current>

Mount Paektu I'd suggest changing it to Changbaishan as that is what the Chinese actually call that mountain. Also I'd suggest googling some pictures of this volcano, if this isn't natural wonder material I don't know what is, def on par with Crater Lake

<Suggested New names>

Honggeertu Volcanic Field - Could be used either with only Honggeertu or the Field added to it

Jingpo - Jingpo Lake was created when volcanic eruptions blockaded the river thus forming a lake, just calling it Jingpo Volcano is probably simplest since it seems to not have a name separate from the lake. (This has already been done for example Lake Taupo and the Taupo volcano under the caldera)

Tianshan Volcanic Group

Turfan Volcano

Kunlun Volcanic Group - Apparently also has the alternate name Ashikule

Laohei and Huoshao - Erupted in the 1720's in Wudalianchi

Keluo Volcanic Field

Hainan Dao Volcanic Field

Gonna leave it here for now, there are maybe half a dozen more names out there too and I haven't even touched on the ones on Taiwan yet. Might add more later

-Korean Volcano Names-

<Current>

Mount Peaktu - Same as above
Hallasan

<Suggestions>

Ulleungdo - Another volcanic island like Jeju where Hallasan is located

Ch'uga-Ryong

-Kongo Volcano Names-

<Current>

Catoca - A Kimberlite diatreme, a type of volcanic eruption that often produces a lot of diamonds and the site of the biggest diamond mine in the world.

<Suggested Names>

Nyiragongo - While Mt Nyiragongo probably wasn't within the borders of the Kingdom of Kongo at the time it is a very famous volcano of the current DR Congo. Infamous for its extremely fluid lava that can reach ridiculously high speeds of around 100km/h / 60 mph when going downhill compared to the average lava eruption that is typically oozing pretty slowly. One of the most closely monitored volcanoes in the world due to extreme threat to the city of Goma

Nyamuragira - The shield volcano neighbour of Nyiragongo. To my knowledge not quite as dangerous.

Bisoke

May-Ya-Moto

Tshibinda

-Hungarian Volcano Names-

<Suggestions>

Ciomadul/Csomád- This one might suprise you but there is a volcano up in the Carpathians in East Transylvania, called Csomád in Hungarian (I think Transylvania used to be Hungarian territory, correct me if I'm wrong). Despite being dated to having last erupted 32k to 27,5k years ago gas measurements from the crater lake and seismic signals recorded suggest that the volcano still has an active magma chamber and is thus dormant rather than extinct

This is all for now but I intend to update and fill in more as I look more into other nations. Please tell me if you like the tidbids of info or if you'd rather I just list the names. If anybody wants to chime in with more suggestions or just feedback in general such as on the format etc. feel free :)
