Vpr3- 5CC Babylon

Okay. I put it like that so that it'll work out by time zone like we did in Vpr2. Is after Kaiser Berger enough time? If not you could go inbetween bed_head7 and me. Putting you last would be a skip, but if you want one I have no problem with it.

@viper - if i'm not being presumt..presumpti..presumtu..., damn it, you know what i mean. If BnH wants a skip i'm willing to take it. Plan to plop in place and go from there. Please advise.

Actually, im good now. I was up in a few, and found out i was out of turn on one, and had 5 turns on other. Im good to go.

Okay, then BigNHuge is up.

I understand, I want to get started too. Not to rush BigNHuge or anything though.

Game advice: As mentioned before, I checked that mountain square. It has a river, so I think we should settle on the spot. Besides, the first 10 turns don't need to benefit of a river too much IMO.

got it. will play now

settling on spot doesnt give us the benefit of the river. So what should i do?

Right click on the spot we are on for sure to see if we are on the river. Commerce in the tile shows that we are on the river, no commerce shows we aren't. And if we aren't, we definitely want to move a couple spaces and get on the river. I don't think we have any other option.

I already did right click. 1 bonus commerce. I am positive here, we should settle on the spot.

i am positive that it isnt. if we settled, we cant irrigate the wheat, which means that were NOT on the river.

I checked, founded Babylon on the spot and tried to irrigate the wheat with the worker. Only mining and roading is allowed. However, if I right click the mountain it says 1 shield and 1 commerce. I checked a mountain that absolutely could not have a river on it that the worker spotted and it was just 1 shield. Any lurkers know why this happened? Is this a bug?

So, I suggest moving the worker on the mountain. By moving the settler on the mountain, we have commited to founding our first city at 3900 BC, when earlier can be done if something nearby is discovered. If we see something good, we move the settler there. If there is nothing good and we are unhappy with the current location then move the settler elsewhere. Sound good?

ok i will post either later tonight or early tomorrow.

Pre-Flight- Not much, lets all have a good, bloody game. :D

Turn [1] 4000BC- Move worker on mountain as instructed. Over west, there is a paultry few spots to settle. One that attracts me very much. It will make us settle in a couple turns, but its really the best choice.

IBT- Nothing

Turn [2] 3950BC- Move settler into position to settle next turn. We will lose the lux/wheat, but gain 3 golds, 2 on hill, 1 on mountain. This will help our economy extremely.

IBT- Nothing

Turn [3] 3900BC- Settle Babylon. (Shouts of joy). Growth in 10 :( and a warrior in 5. Set max rush to Pottery in 15. We can use this to make a nice worker pump in city 2.

IBT- Nothing

Turn [4] 3850BC- Worker starts mine on BG.

IBT- Nothing

Turn [5] 3800BC- Nothing

IBT- Nothing

Turn [6] 3750BC- Nothing

IBT- Nothing

Turn [7] 3700BC- Nothing.... see a patern here? :)

IBT- Warrior->Warrior. This can be change as it wont finish in my turns.

Turn [8] 3650BC- Send warrior on a nice scouting mission to the south.

IBT- Nothing

Turn [9] 3600BC- Warrior goes south again on a mountain, revealing an ivory well within our grasp, (SoZ anyone? :) ) and a goodie hut. Will pop next turn.

IBT- Nothing

Turn [10] 3550BC- Road our Mined BG. Pop a map revealing a great map that would be an expanders paradise.
Thoughts- Warrior build can be overruled. Hopefully, we can get those lux without any probs. Babylon is looking like a nice wonder/barracks city. Take it away boys!

Looks like some decent land. Babylon is going to be a powerhouse later on. I would build the warrior, as we need to explore the land to our north before we decide where to send our first settler. Hopefully there is more grass up there, as grassland cities are quite superior to plains cities.

Very nice, I think Babylon will build stuff fast. AK is up, Kaiser Berger on deck. I suggest exploring north a bit. For the city location, I suggest one with all the BG, river, and wheat. Later maybe one with the flood plain and game. We can get Ivory! If we plan on any early warmongering (perhaps some pointy stick) I suggest getting that and building SoZ early on, whether the resource is obtained from a city or colony.
