Ashur riots, sorry. Hire a tax collector.

Romans have a 4-cow and 2-wheat river spot near them! I was thinking to settle near the game then try to grab the cow and oasis, eventually more game, from the Germans.
4
Ellipi riots... Got to be much more used to early game with 1 content citizen.

Keep in mind we can disband a city if I've really screwed up...

Pre-flight: Ashur and Elipi to Temples. Bab. to granary (prebuild)

1225 - zzz
1200 - found Akkad and Uruk. yes, I know they are not on rivers, but with border expansion we will have 3 lux. Science to 100% Philo in 2
1175 - zzz
IT - Philo comes in. Lit is our freebie. Science to 10&. CoL in 50
1150 - change granary to MoM. Trying to get MoM and GL. Hold onto those techs.
IT - Hittites get the big pointy things made of stone.
1125- zzz
IT - Rome building Oracle
1100 - zzz
IT - Ashur does something
1075 - more snoozin'
1050 - same
1025 - same
1000 - Otto von Nitwit has Philo! crap. Build MoM until he beats us to it then switch to Lit. Build temples and libs to expand the borders. Maybe trade philo around to see what we can pull in before GL. I'm feeling pretty naked with nothing but spears for defense.

Looks like it's wonder grabbing time. Don't forget SoZ! Think Bismark will beat us to the MoM? If so we need backup plans. I suggest changing it to SoZ if it fails. Sound good? No need to worry about just spears for defense. It's the best we can build... but this reminds me of something. Our Bowmen, are we waiting for a new government? Or do we plan to trigger the GA with wonders?

bed_head7 is up and Admiral Kutzov on deck, I think. A bit confusing, but I think it was because of the swap:

Admiral Kutzov-swapped to #4
Kaiser Berger- played
viper275- also played
Admiral Kutzov- moved here, just played
bed_head7- Up

But after bed_head7 it changes to the new, normal roster.

975 BC (81) - I really don't see the Great Library idea working out. Babylon grows every ten turns, and only has three BG. I am not especially good at forecasting, but I can't see us getting it much before we make the switch from Bc to AD. Instead, lets build SoZ, and if we end up needing the Great Library we'll just hve to capture it. As long as we make a quick switch to Republic and road everything, we should do okay doing min research gambits and trading when the opportunity arises. We end up down 10 gpt and up 80 or so gold, at tech parity with all (AA except Currency, Polytheism, and CoL). We don't have any horses or iron in our territory.

825 BC (87) - I forgot some turns. Oh well. Still nothing has happened.

Not much of log. If anyone was really attached to the Great Library, sorry, but I really don't think we would have gotten it in a timely manner anyway.

Pre-flight: no changes. Nothing happened until 670, when we gave 200g + 6gpt to France for Poly. That turn, we also obtained 45g + CoL from Greece. Bismarck the Evil demanded 21g IT and we caved. Nothing much happpened until 610 IT when the romans demanded 20g and we caved. We finished MoM in the 590 IT and were so exited by our new place to put dead people that we had a riot in Ashur.

Going for Republic? Sounds fine to me as long as standard tile bonus at least is equivalent to the unit support we'd get from Monarchy.

Those AIs love to demand stuff from us. Although IMO now is a good time to destroy them, we can't. But later when we have some Ancient Cavalry?

In 390 BC we complete the Statue of Zeus, and oh crap, we enter our GA :smoke: I should have realized that this was going to happen. Oh well. Not much to do about it now. I jack up our science rate and actually research to make use of our GA.

Thats all of interest.

Not much happened. Greece demands some spices and we enter Middle Ages. Time to vote on this: Republic or Monarchy? I'm not sure. Feudalism was our free tech by the way.

I would say for the purposes of keeping up technologically, the republic is necessary. All of our towns should be cities soon if they aren't already, so we should at least be able to support 15 units relatively soon. And since we will have the full array of improvements in all of our cities, with little corruption, we should still be fairly powerful research wise as a republic. Of course, I may have underestimated our eventual unit support costs. Oh, got it, but I'll wait until there is some more input on government before playing.

Republic. We're not taking anyone down with a 15 unit military at this point. Gotta like the one turn anarchy.
