Waiting on Player#....

Dear fellow civ-fanatics,

The situation:

- I´m playing with my brother coop vs 3 Ai enemies.
- We are using tunngle
- Mapsize is about 220x220, the whole game is heavily edited/modified
- Currently we are 27 hours into battle
- Each of us has about 500 units
- Ai has at least 1000 each
- My PC needs about 2min to calculate the Ai turns ( I have no problem with that since this game is epic!!)
- My brother needs about twice as long, so I have to wait for him for about another 2 minutes ( Waiting on Player#....)
- It dosn´t matter who is host
- We both got 8 Gb ram, can´t be the problem
- I got a an i5 3,2 Ghz, my brother has a AMD Phenon 2,6 Ghz
- His CPU-load is only at about 30% during Ai turn calculation
- His system dosn´t "answer" on ICMPV 6 and ICMPV 4 packages ( could this be an issue?)

Any tipp or help is appreciated!

Have you deactivated as many animations as possible? Else not calculating but animating is most time consuming.
 
Yeah, I usually start with animations on and then turn off combat animation about midway through the middle age when there are a bazillion units moving around.
 
As I said, we got all animations disabled.

Any other suggestions? What about these ICPMV 4&6 packages? Anybody heard of problems concerning these?
 
The game is always cpu intensive in my experience. The things that hurt performance is having lots of harbors in huge or massive maps. CCM reduced the trading overseas to make it more functional for players.

You can see things like 2 min animations for a settler in late game 31 civ 250x250 maps.
 
Very interesting, the trade fuction of harbors is nice, even on pangäa ( we always play on pangäa, since the ai isnt really able to land properly), but taking away that funtion wouldnt hurt that much.
It´s worth a try.

If you are on a Pangaea Map, you might want to turn off air trade was well.
