I am currently playing a game with restarts on, I have destroyed all starting civs and a few more. I now have 5 civs with no, capital, no cities at all, just one wandering settler. AD1410.

I have settled most of the planet, and they seem to be restricted to wandering back and forth along the north pole. Not only that they are each at war with two of the other civs, with who's army?

I don't know whether to put them out of their misery or not.

The AI isn't smart enough to take it's own military (or lack thereof) into consideration when declaring war. The settlers probably ran into each other and got ticked off because they were in each other's way.

The AI won't found a city without better terrain to support food production, so unless the north pole is connected to fertile land somewhere, they will just wander forever. If you want to milk the score and grow large, then trap one of the settlers with a couple units and go about your business dominating the planet. If your going for a high score, this is to your advantage since you should be able to own all 255 cities instead of having one be an AI city. You're probably better off eventually killing all but your one pet settler (and any subsequent restarts.)

Personally I'd go nuts trying to do that, and I'd just wipe them all out, but I can understand that some people like to play that way - to create the monster civ.

Trap one settler and go for a high score, sounds time consuming, but I may give it a try.

Have you ever played it the otherway round. You create a map with only one continent and no islands. Then you play a nomade civilisation and try to gatter an army by free units from villages! It's an interesting challenge!

well, you won't reach highscore but it's funny.

But you take cities from other civs but I don't use them much.
