War and Democracy = Anarchy after 7 turns?

...that's what they all say, but did you overall time to finish the research drop? Republic takes a while to work.

Thanks for your input Punkbass, but don't think you should ever switch govs, during war-time, even if you think its nearing the end.
Are you saying its the size and number of towns/cities that should determine Feudalism or Republic, rather than civ area size?
Tomoyo: I don't understand what you mean by "finish the research drop"? Also, are you saying that I should expect it will take some time to "fine-tune" Republic to my particular game situation?
Sorry if I'm asking "beginner-type" questions. I trying to improve to move up to Emporer level.

:wallbash: "finish the research drop" = Lower the research time. :crazyeye:

...Yes. Of course. Unit support is based on how many towns and cities and metros you have. Feudalism supports 5 units for every town, 2 for every city and 1 for every Metro (henceforth known as 5/2/1), which is what makes it unusual and generally not a very good government. It's very niche, much like your other maligned government, Fascism. A couple other examples of unit support are Rep. 1/3/4, Mon. 2/4/8, Com. 6/6/6 and Demo. 0/0/0.
