War (what isn't it good for) - Military op's center

(Just to set the mood)

How long can we wait before the first warrior?

If an opponent starts with a deer in a forrest they will be 3spt from the start. so they will produce a warrior on turn 4. I doubt we are closer than 10 squares, so if they head in the right direction we have at least 14 turns before we see anyone.

Which way are we sending the warrior - my vote is E E this will show whether the little hint of blue is sea and see if there is a nice city site by the Flood plains. (coastal second city might be nice since curraghs can explore faster than warriors)

I like the idea of early dinky boats. Great way to explore if you don't have scouts.

I the first game what was the outcome of the early warring nations? How much warring did MIA do? It seems their first military action was driving cavalry deep into the soft underbelly of KISS.

The early warring nations all faired poorly in that game. MIA was the last to go to war and executed perfectly with its cavs.

BTW, sorry about the Bears JB.

It looks like there's no passage N of the mountain, so I suspect going through the goody hut is the only way to continue north. I'm guessing going west won't get anywhere (possibly the warrior could head to the mountain to have a better guess), and the warrior currently being produced can head southish. I'll look at the arrangement of barbs popped from huts.

Edit: Nevermind, I think there is a path north of the mountain.
Edit2: There is.

I'd prefer to keep all of our cities garrisoned to keep them safe from barbs (should start popping up before Great Walls of Fire builds its second warrior I think), so a warrior could go exploring southwestish when GWoF's second warrior is built (or a couple turns prior) IMO.

I concur with this idea. We need to make sure we have a strong garrison on perimeter cities

Korea still hasn't built a settler, so barbs won't pop up before Great Walls of Fire builds a second warrior. The first warrior could start exploring now, although that would require 20% lux once GWoF grows. Graceland needs 10% lux when it grows anyways.

Which team is Korea and WTH are they building all these turns? Warrior rush?

I would bet a granary. An interesting tactic since you can't do as much exploring (not bulding explorers) or expanding (don't have the second city to build anything). Who is on that team?

We might want to start a thread to evaluate our opponents. Don't have a good song title to call that one at the moment (Watching the Detectives? Secret Agent Man?)

Could easily go warrior warrior granary and then know exactly where to put the settlers when you get them.

Not to be paranoid like Marvin here, but how much military do we have at the moment?
