I miss the custom house from the original col. Apparently the warehouse expansion is its replacement, where goods exceeding warehouse limit are automatically sold at 50% of their market value.

QUESTION: Do goods sold from the warehouse suffer from taxation as well?

Yes, so it is not a very good option. However you can still trade with Europe after independence.

Can you still sell the overflow even if the goods are banned in Europe?

In Col1 you could sell any item via the Custom House, regardless if the good was banned in Europe or not. Does this also apply to the Warehouse Extension in Civ4Col?
