they wont look for a civ3 installation or else fail??
 
ummm...okay...first post in a forum...ever.. :blush:

I`d like to thank all of you wonderfull people, this is the best mod ever!
I have 2.17 and i noticed in the editor the orc warrior doesnt upgrade to orc boyz (i think someone already said this but still...), same with the black ones. And please make the spells disbandable, i don`t use them all that much, and it gets annoying when i get like 300 of them! i would do it my self but i`m computer ignorant, im affraid when the next patch gets here it would mess things up. The Tileans could use the blue color Americans get in civ3, azzuri and so on...no? I keep confusing them with Estalia. What else... oh yes..not sure if goblins and orcs should get separate races... I mean, they have the same units `cept for the forrest spiders and orc-black orc blabla..you could just make one race, and use orc boyz for first era fighters and they can later be upgraded to black orc boyz, LOTR graphics are cool but they don`t fitt well anymore, Aaglo made sure of that (give us the last dwarf unit you made, the axe is NOT too big!) :D ..also, i just saw CamJH`s list of units... USE MORE OF THOSE PLEEEEEAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEE, for all sorts of infantry and such.. One thing about the chaos... Bestigors are made defensive...:confused: I saw that you gave them high attack, but not that high if you look at it, i really, reeaaally think they should be beefed up for offense....when i think of something else i`ll blabb it right out :goodjob:

Oh, yeah, maybe some werewolfs for sylvannia? if they can make gnolls, you can make werewolfs twice the better, trust me aaglo :D
UH!, and a yummy new armored vampire lord? (chaos warrior meets...a dude with long hair and a cape)
AH!, and that manticore request...yeah baby! (i have a cool pic..but i dont know how to put it here... :blush: )
Edit No. ...lost count, civspec armies!... I`m turning this into a wishlist for our good Santa, aaglo. He is THE MAN (the rest of you are also THE MEN, just don`t tell aaglo :)), even tough he thinks an axe can be too big...
 
I'll stand up on some my ideas of some game features "upgraging" for further balance/rich gameplay.:

1. Flying units - it will be nice if all/some of them will path lakes/waters (Civ Air units) (obcourse with cost/parameters change)
For example dragons can be lowered by 1/4 of their combat parameters , same hitpoints, 5 movement , air.
2. Expansionist civ power is bit weak, how about civ like , civ specified unit 2.2.1 all terrains as roads or simply 2.2.2 that will replace 2.2.1 (3.2.2 > 3.2.1)?
3. Damn, give Manticores to Nagarroth.:evil: :mad: :devil:

He got me confused on that second one, but my math was never any good :)

Oh, and just to let people know, I`m not one of those gimme gimme gimme people, that`s my wife :D
I would contribute to this mod in some other way, but all that unit, terrain, etc. making is SF to me :)

Last edit, i promise (i basicly edit after each sentence :)), haven`t seen it while playing yet, but in the editor the goblin shaman DOES upgrade to ...great goblin shmoblin whatever..

F.Death, awesome map, i like it allot, but could you put back that sort of an ogre kingdom in the east? squeeze it in somewhere, put them on mountains so that they cant move, but noone can build where they are ( i saw some cool drawings on WH site, where a bunch of ogres is attacking a caravan), until they get some flying units.

Also, i never played WH board game, in fact, this mod is my first contact with it, so i dont know what kind of a "race" are the Border Princes? In the map I saw they would be on the Balkan Peninsula no? So I would like to know if they made them lame, cause I`m from there :)

Editing..again... i saw a werebear unit made by mrtn. Woodelves? And i saw a viking spearman by zulu9812. Norsca?
How`s LizardmenRule`s Skaven race coming up? Maybe he and aaglo should gang up, and make a great race, i know he can do it himself, and he`s doing a great job, but this way it would be faster :)

...I sound so demandig :D, but i don`t care. Please can someone reply to..well..each sentence i`ve posted, please? Like I said, first time posting in a forum, ever, I`m excited as a schoolboy :D
 
Excellent new map Fledgling. So far I have seen Sylvan found a second city. I have not made my way up the north yet to see how Chaos are doing but I'm sure they are fine.

welcome Stormrage. Most of this has been covered in earlier posts. Just look back. for example, Chaos are weak in defence for a reason. Offence is the best defence in their case.

I didn`t say they are weak in defence (wich race has a pikeman with def. stronger than 6? Bestigors have 6 = the def. is good), I said the bestigors should be beefed up to be more offensive bad ass mothers.:evil: Maybe just +1 on attack? 6.6.1. isn`t that much to ask, is it?:mischief: Or even better, if you think they should be weak on defence than 6.5.1, and cheaper than the chaos warrior (I think, if not, make it)

And most of it is being covered... what most? Only the orcs-black orcs and bestigors issues. And I made ALOT of other suggestions, for a newbie that is. I think...

1.Tilea should be America light blue like in regular civ so it doesn`t get confused with Estalia, and Italy`s (Tilea) color (well at least for their national soccer team, I dunno for the rest of their national markings) is that kind of blue.

2.Spells should be disbandable, maybe slower production rate also. 32 was too fast for me if I had alot of cities, and now it`s dropped to 20???

3.No orcs and goblins separate races, they should hang out together, they are pretty much the same, so that LOTR orc graphics can go bye-bye, they are extremly cool, but aaglo`s look so much different that the LOTR ones just feel wierd now. :crazyeye: Orcs and goblins have all the same units `cept the orcs and forrest spiders, and all the same techs... Goblins being scientific sounds more WC than WH to me, but that`s just me.

4.Aaglo`s beheader dwarf? YES please, the axe is not too big, there is no such thing as an oversized axe. Check out my avatar. And if a smaller axe would make you feel better, I belive you could make it smaller if you really wanted to, cause you are a WH-unit-making god. :king:

5.Sylvannia werewolfs (if WH lore specificly says there aren`t any, then no)

6.New vampire lord unit, armored :evil:

7.The manticore is not my request but I strongly support it (How do I put pictures in here?)

8.Fledgling Death -put back the "ogre kingdom" on the map. Also, Mr.Do, please make this map the official one for the WH mod, great job, dudes :goodjob:

9.Viking spearman by Zulu9812 for Norsca (maybe put civcolor markings on the shield, and make pants darker.), and then the dolgans can use the germanic spearman for their unit, instead of the gladiator graphic. I mean really, a half-naked dude in Sibir? :viking:

14. Just a thought, Elven and Dark elven units (regulars: sword, spear, bow), if anyone decides to make them look more WH instead of LOTR, should be made last, they fit (or is it "fitt", this really bothers me) in well for now.

15.Aaglo`s advisors should be included in the next patch (idea for the foreign advisor, I mean what if the civ doesn`t have access to sea?; anyway, the idea is: two little dudes shaking hands and holding daggers behind their backs:) )

16.Ungols have a horrible civcolor... they are like anchient Mongols right? Can you imagine a mongol horde armed to the teeth charging at you dressed up in pink? If you remove the goblin race, well actually merge it with the Orcs, than you can give their color to the Ungols.

17.Civ specific (race, that is, the regular one is good for `umans) armies? An orc with a banner, an elf with a banner and such....

18.Hikaro Takayama`s Mithra ninja for the amazonian gunpowder unit (remove the tail and the ears and she`ll look like a regular chick)

19.Crossbowman by Dark sheer

20.Embryodead`s orcs? you know, the civ warrior but green, you could make it a starting unit. Maybe you could even enlarge it a bit, like that tribal spearman someone did.

21.Shadow warrior by eclipse for...I dunno...some kind of an assassin unit.

22. Make a new leaderhed for the orcs, he is cool, but I think the orc leader should be a black orc? You know, a big, pissed off, drooling, drunken pile of muscles, a green, mean killing machine? Instead we have a scrawny (is this the right word?), skinny looking gray dude with missmatched eyes, great for LOTR, not so great for WH.

23.A WH title screen? I have that dragon one, it looks cool (I was so affraid I would mess something up when I used it, like I said before I`m computer ignorant), but maybe someone can make a better one, like those WH wallpapers, a huge battle or something.

24.Can you make a ship to be an aircraft carrier (for spells) and a foot unit transport (for mages), and the mage an aircraft carrier but with unit foot checked, so you can load spells on mages when they are on land, and load spells AND mages on ships sepparatly?

25.Dragons don`t upgrade to great dragons? ...why not? Maybe (a big maybe, I know how you guys feel on making dragons dependable on resources) make great dragons depend on warpstone, so they are like a large, mutated version of regular dragons?

26.Also, shouldn`t the zombies and the zombie dragon enslave into new zombies? Yeah, they shouldn`t, what if a zombie kills a huge chaos troll and enslaves it to a tiny (from the troll`s point of view) zombie.. BUT WAIT! The other units do it with skeletons, so yeah it is a valid suggestion. Nevermind all this if zombie..umm...ism (is zombieism even a word?) in WH is not like "regular" zombieism. A tonguebreaking word...

27.Look at the fantasy empires thread, the city graphics! Weeee! A must! They should replace the standard civ cities...

Once again, everything in this mod is great, and I love it, no offense to the people who made the stuff I suggested to be changed/removed.

If I keep up like this, you guys will have enough material for WH 3.0!

11. Aaglo has made it clear in other threads that he does not like skaven, so don't get your hopes up. ive got exams soon, but after i will be back on the skaven-making bandwagon

- I believe the colour stays as it is.

- I like them not being disbandable (so that you won't get any free shield from disbanding auto-built spells). Also, I didn't like the 32-turn thing on the auto-production of spells - I was always short on them in my games)

- Yes orcs and goblins separate races. Period. They do have different unit lines. In fact, the original idea for me to make the boar chariot was to give boar chariot to orcs and wolf chariot to goblins. Same with warg rider & boar rider. Actually, I think that change should be included.

- No, I'm not a god of anykind. I think that there actually isn't a place for that beheader-dwarf (there's no equivalent in wh-universe... except maybe for lord & hero characters).

- do you mean you want an ogre civ? Nah, Too much work. Besides I like them as they are now (mercenaries).

- Maybe not, the germanic spearman is just great for them. I don't know much about the dolgans though...

- umm... not really. Werebears & woodelves? The werebear would suit better for chaos I think (beast of chaos to be exact).

- no comments. I think that's the minoriest issue of them all. We have enough races already.

- we're currently using some of his units (for the arab and maybe ind). We don't have any plans of using more of them.

- The updated advisors (they will be more or less era-specific) will be included as an optional download in the next version.

- Not really necessary.

- mages (which are spell carriers) cannot be loaded into ships. This was the way the mod used to work, but this idea was abandoned in version 2.1.

- Current system is what was inteded, so It'll stay the same.

- zombies are mindles creatures that can barely fight - let alone do something as complicated as creating new zombies. In WH zombies are created by necromancers & the like.

- we (me and mrtn) are including updated city graphics for all culture groups. Some city looks will change more than others, but generally the look of the cities will stay the same :)

No, you won't be needing civ3 to exctract these files. You may also notice, that there are a lot of WH-units not included in this mod - simply for the reason that we don't have graphics for them (skaven, some demons, some war machines, ect.)

Now, my turn..

Hmmm, it seems that either my english is not as good as I thought, or you guys don`t read carefully!?-about the ogres, mages and Border Princes.

And, khm, khm, pardon me, but can you please give me a reason for not changing Tilea`s color? I thought that was my best, my most rational request..... Noone uses that color, it can be easilly ...errr...ummm...lack of english...its not like other shades of blue! You won`t mix the dwarfs or the westerlanders with tileans, and you CAN mix up the tileans with estalians. At least I can, and I do, maybe because they are so close to each other?

Forgott the disbanding gives you shields, good point. I`ll just bombard more often...bzzzkkk :) (BTW, can you, no, not you, like everyone, put a command in the civ "Disband all" (like you have "Fortify all"), like trough messing with the ini.file or something?)

I didn`t ask for an ogre race, he had a bunch of evil ogres in the east on the older version of the map that didn`t belong to any faction, you know, like barbarians. And also, I just asked for any info on the Border Princes `cause they seem to be on located on the Balkan Peninsula equivalent in WH, and I`m from there..I DID NOT ask for them to be a race, I even said I doubt they should be.

I just asked for the title screen (and the leaderhead) for anyone to make, you know, just for fun, wasn`t intended for you two guys to deal with it, I know you are far too busy for that. Also, every other request was ment in a way that anyone with unit-making skills who has read that post can give it a shot, if they like it.

The units that are confusing you (shadow warrior...etc..) can be found in the forums, can`t remember where, but I`ve written the name of the maker, hope it helps.

About the mages, I know that, I`ve done my homework, I have carefully read the the whole WH 2.0 thread, and all others connected to it, the suggestion was for a way to work around it, and make them spell carriers AND loadble on ships.

About the werebear, I was thinking more like Night elves from WC3, they are a lot like Wood elves in WH (quiet and deadly, but they have not so quiet treemen, and they have this cool warlocks that transform into big ass bears, and then they kick some undead butt (rattle, rattle)), so I thought if they were that much alike, maybe the Wood elves have them too? I AM just a NOOB, ya know? :)

The Ungols... I guess I`ll just have to start with a race close to them and wipe them out in the start, so that all the pink..ness doesn`t annoy me.

The Dolgans could also use the germanic speaman, I just can`t look at those poor guys freezing their... spears off anymore :) Brrrrrr

Ok on the dragons, I actually like them this way enough, the change was just an idea, a shot in the dark :)

As for zombies, I didn`t mean for them to chant ancient magic and raise the dead with a magic scepter or something like that, I thought they are like disease carrying creatures, you know, like zombies in the movies, and Resident Evil, they bite you, you die, you become one of them = enslaving.

Sure, I can give you a reason (altough not a good one): I like the way the civ-colour things are now :p .

We have two greenskin tribes for the reason, that greenskins have the animosity -rule: they sometimes fight each-other. And there's no other way to represent this than creating two different races. Thus orcs and goblins were included as individual races.

Also, the units you guys don`t have the graphics for... ummmm.. I don`t know anything about unit-making, I thought you guys MAKE the graphics? Yep, we have done those graphics, and we're already a bit tired of making them :)

I didn`t ask for an ogre race, he had a bunch of evil ogres in the east on the older version of the map that didn`t belong to any faction, you know, like barbarians. And also, I just asked for any info on the Border Princes `cause they seem to be on located on the Balkan Peninsula equivalent in WH, and I`m from there..I DID NOT ask for them to be a race, I even said I doubt they should be.
To be frank, I don't know anything about border princes. And in current WHFB, ogres aren't evil. Nor they are good. They're almost as neutral as one can be - they're sellswords who just think that they are better than anyone else :)

About the werebear, I was thinking more like Night elves from WC3, they are a lot like Wood elves in WH (quiet and deadly, but they have not so quiet treemen, and they have this cool warlocks that transform into big ass bears, and then they kick some undead butt (rattle, rattle)), so I thought if they were that much alike, maybe the Wood elves have them too? I AM just a NOOB, ya know? :)
Yep, this is WH-mod. Not WC3-mod. That's why wood-elves don't have were-bears.

The Ungols... I guess I`ll just have to start with a race close to them and wipe them out in the start, so that all the pink..ness doesn`t annoy me.
..or you can use the editor in your personal mod and change the colour yourself (same could be said with that estalia/tilea you mentioned first)
 
I will do that color changes for Tilea (even if i hate making personal mods, I allways think I`ll mess something up, even if I save it as a different mod, weird i know, but so are alot of other fears :D), don`t now what to use for Ungols, the suggestion was connected to Orcs+Goblins merging so the Ungols could get the Goblins color. I`ll just hope someone deals with them before I get there, and that I`ll be spared of their pink..ness.

And Border Princes arent that much important it seems. It sounded like they are something like Rohan, not in a way they are horsemen, but that they guard ...Europe, in a lack of better word (i saw a map of the Old world, but it had naggaroth and all those "american" races on it, so I`m confused, is Old world like Europe, or like Europe + America (new world??)) from wich ever race is on the other side of the border (in FH`s map that would be orcs).

About the ogres being neither good nor evil, i saw a pic where they are attacking a caravan, i think it was Kislev`s, so those ogres that were put on the map could`ve been like a bunch of bandits, or they just drink a lot (alot?) and attack everything in site :)

Oh, and can you explain something to me about your sig, aaglo? psychic means ... damn...my english.... telepathy like, or muscled up like? Do red ones go faster cause the big bad orc is gonna bust them if they don`t (more likely) or cause orcs have mental powers (???) and they go faster cause orcs think they should.... Or it just seems to orks that they do, cause orks think they should. It`s been bugging me for a while..
 
17.Civ specific (race, that is, the regular one is good for `umans) armies? An orc with a banner, an elf with a banner and such....

Can't be done, it's hardcoded. The only thing that can be changed is built armies, and this would give most civs two different looking armies. I don't think it's worth it to create (at least) 5 new units for a feature that doesn't work very good in the game.

Oh, and Stormrage, please ask all map specific questions in that thread, not in this one. :)

Good point about the armies, didn`t know it was hard coded.

About the map, i was wondering can you, and aaglo, and mr.do (leader?) make the FH`s map the official one, maybe include it in the next patch? It`s the best so far, I think. Thats why I`ve been mentioning it here :)

Orks have mental power :lol::lol::lol: The funnies thing I˙ve ever heard :)
 
About that ork logic:
They think that if a car is painted red, it must be a fast car. Even if it wasn't. And if the car would be just an average car, an ork driving that car would go faster than if a human was driving that car (And only because that ork would think that the car should be really fast because it's painted red).

Hence the orks must have some sort of psychic powers :)

Ummm... I do that also, with my Yugo which is also red, goes faster than regular Yugo`s :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I don't make units from scratch, I only convert them. Colour conversions are usually quite fast, but cut and paste is sooooo boring. :sleep:
