Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.1

Ive been playing the warhammer mod for about two or three weeks now (I stumbled across it while looking for the midgard mod for civ2, and decided to give this a try) and ive been really impressed with the detail, sheer number of units created ect (I take my hat off to Aaglo for how much stuff he pumps out). Anyways I've been reading this thread for a while but noticed there hasnt been any news recently on the upcomming patch that is including the skaven/beastmen so was wandering if there was another thread i was unaware of or if people had just run out of information to give out on it. Anyways thanks in advance for anything you can enlighten me with.

PS. Am i the only new poster that hasnt had install problems? Seems i got kinda lucky on that front

Welcome to CFC! :wavey:
Glad you like the mod. :D
This thread has some info on the development, though you should probably skip the first 10 or 20 pages. ;)

Gentlemen,

I want to thank all of you repsonsible for this mod. I have been playing it now since the winter, on Regent level because I like to win more often than not, and have played almost every civ.

What I am looking for is a copy of the civilopedia in a word document. I am planning a super-hybrid D&D campaign, set in the WH world (which I play, along with 40K) using parts of this mod as reference. I am hoping the 'pedia is saved somewhere that I can print all at once.

I may be off my nut trying to combine D&D, Warhammer Fantasy AND this Civ3 mod, but...well, yes, I AM off my nut:crazyeye: , but any help would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone is interested in my comments after playing almost all of the civs, I will post, but I didn't want to clutter the thread up.

Thanks in advance

I'm not aware of a word version, (but I’d wait for martin to reply, he knows what’s going on I only think I do) but why don’t you just copy/paste into word?:p
Also it sounds very interesting, and I’m sure your comments would be welcome :)

P.s. have you had your welcome to civfanatics post yet? if not I bagsy (sp?) it ;)

louis, check out C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios\WH2\Text\Civilopedia.txt

So, you wanna host a RPG campaign? You know that there's a WH RPG, right? That'll give you much more info than the pedia of this mod. :)

Oh, and if you start to sell your techs, instead of trying to hoard them, you will probably find that the step up to Monarch isn't so bad, after all. ;)

@texdionis: Next time you post in a thread, read the latest posts before posting. ;)

Mrtn,

Thanks, I will print it from there.

I found the warhammer rpg online and may buy it as a reference, but I am going to run the 3.5 D&D rules, I am getting too old to learn a new system!

I am going to jump to Monarch with the next game. Most likely with the Dark Elves, I find their extra movement and ability to get out of harms way most useful.

After playing ten civs at Regent so far, the easiest wins were with the Dark Elves, Sylvania and Redeye Goblins. The high Elves and Wood Elves were the hardest, and were my only losses. I did find that playing any of the undead civs and getting a good jump on wonders bogs the game down with the endless supply of skeleton warriors. It does, however, make the other civs very jumpy when you park dozens and dozens of them on their borders.

One question. I winrared the last update, but from the civ-content screen it says I am still playing 2.19? Did I do something wrong?

Thanks again for the mod and everyones hard work.

Louis

Ahh well you must look not at the scenario titel there it is (afaik) still called 2.19 but if you read the scenario instruction you will see it's 2.20 (a?) I got mixed up quite a while ago cause I still have the 2.02 bic so there was some confusion at the beginning....

Nope, I have 1st hand inside info that it will be released soon ;)

Altho, in modding terms "soon" could mean a year! :p

No, it`ll be here. Soon. ...:mischief:

LizardmenRule! is making it, I think he is just waiting for the 2.5 patch to come out. Didn`t you see his undead cities and citizens he released? Also, thats the time when Scytale will be updating his map

My Fireball just died of disease... :hmm:
No big deal but maybe some units should be immune if possible, like spells and skeletons for example, for the sake of realism (if that term is applicable in a fantasy world) :)
