Was working, now crashing...

So I had RoM AND working and running just fine on my Windows partition up until I had to wipe and restore that partition. Now after reinstalling everything, the Mod crashes on loading every time. BtS works just fine but not RoM-AND. I've tried deleting the mod ind reinstalling from the same extractor and I still get a crash on startup. Do I need to re-download the installer? Should I reinstall Civ 4? Is there maybe a glitch in my XML framework? Help me out here...

I'm running this in Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro with the following specs:
2.53Ghz i5
8GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M (256MB)
All Windows files and frameworks up to date.

Is you BtS patched to the 3.19 version?

Yep, 3.19. The game alone works just fine. It's just the mod that fails and it does so when the XML files are loading at startup.

Does the xml give any errors or does it just crash to desktop?

You should try reinstalling everything then (if you haven't already). Other than that, the only other thing I could think would be wrong would be some kind of change in drivers when you reinstalled.

QFT - I have a 2008 MBP (nVidia 8600m GT 512 mb) running win7 and ever since I updated the graphics driver plain BTS has become really laggy when it comes to scrolling around the map. Wish I knew how far back I'd have to rollback the drivers to be stable again

Nope. Reinstalled everything from scratch and I get the same results. Although it doesn't mention an XML error, it does crash when the game appears to be loading the XML assets for the mod. I'm stumped.

So after uninstalling and reinstalling 2 more times, including digging through every aspect of my system and removing anything associated with Civ 4, turning off all anti-virus software and running everything as administrator, I got it working again. Not sure which step fixed it. Thanks for the help!

Install older rom versions and patch them should also solve the problem.
