Weedy Firefox fonts

I got fed up of using IE so moved to Firefox. I'm finding it a lot better although one thing I don't like is the weedy fonts it gives you (the IE fonts jut seem bolder and easier to read).

Anyone know how to change it so the fonts aren't as thin?

Tools => Options => Content Tab and there are options for changing your font type and size there.

Yeah I tried that, it doesn't seem to have any effect

EDIT: Ah it does, if I uncheck "Advanced->Allow pages to choose thir own fonts".

I'm sure that will make the font the same for everything though, hmmm

You can also set a minimum font size. That tends to improve the appearance of them.

Hmm the font is better but the text is smaller. I'll give it a go though if I go blind I will hold you responsiible

EDIT: I set minimum font size to 12 that makes it a bit better

my minimum font size is 16.

I gave opera a try but scrapped it because I couldn't find a way to open child windows in a new tab (when you click on a button which opens a new page).

if you have a 3-button mouse ( right, left and scroll wheel that clicks ) you can middle click on a link to open it in a new tab.
