Weird Broken Text

Please Help! I really want to play this game properly. The game runs fine but I have this weird broken text--almost as if the words have be shaken. It makes it nearly impossible to read anything in the game or starting menus. Also my city names have these weird coloured stripes. I have a laptop, HP Pavilion dv6000.

The graphics card in this laptop is a Radeon X1400, which is below the minimum specs and not supported by Firaxis.
The only solution here is to buy a new computer .

Which laptops have the graphics cards that work with civ?

Almost any new one, but if you wan't something that works WELL, you should go for a HD5650 or better, or one of the faster of the new nVidia DX11 chips.
