Weird declaration of war

I would think that arranging to do this on purpose, just to get someone to declare on you, would be an exploit for GOTM/COTM.

I have no idea how you GOTM/COTM guys operate but it seems to me that this could indeed be exploited. I have to check the reproducibility of this incident however. I have no access to my C3C PC right now. I'll have to get back to you on Monday. If I can find the save that is, I have a bad habit of erasing all savefiles as soon as I'm done with a game.

it definitely seems like a bug - I would think that arranging to do this on purpose, just to get someone to declare on you, would be an exploit for GOTM/COTM.

There have been some pretty interesting bugs with hidden nationality units before. Back when I had just Vanilla C3, there was a bug where the AI could be ordered to attack the privateer specifically when it was in a stack of ships, but even so, when the ship attacked, the one that it fought with was still the strongest in the stack, whether that was the privateer or not, and in this way, the AI could fight my battleships (or anything else in the stack) with a destroyer or whatever naval unit they wanted, and still not force a declaration of war.

This was actually pretty cool, because I would build up enormous battleship stacks, add a privateer, and fortify them in international waters that everyone could reach. They would all throw their navies at the stack and lose to my battleships. I destroyed very large navies without having to declare war, it was pretty cool.

My wierd World War Declaration was me attacking my neighbor to get his cities and his resources as well to advance, I failed to get some of his cities and ended up defending most of the time. About 4 people signed a trade embargo on me and some started to declare wars after I declare my war. I was playing that Great deeds of Danish mod as I was the thy I think.

Hmm... I forgot about this thread. I did indeed delete my save-files, but started another game on the same map with another civ. Emptied most of my coastal cities and placed only privateers in ports all over my continent. Nothing happened this time though.

It's happened a few times to me. A galley that I think is passing through my territory will suddenly unload a settler/defender and then the galley will attack a coastal town, declaring war in the process. I think that ~maybe~ it happens if the settler's intended target gets taken by someone else...
